I’m not getting the exotic dragon chest (container) for some reason. I know the exotic chest is a daily reward, but I haven’t fought Tequatl for over 2 days. In any case, I haven’t been receiving the exotic chest for the past consecutive runs (once per day) after defeating it. I got the 3 other chests (fine, masterwork, rare) and the ground chest.
The weird thing is that at the bottom right corner of the screen above the mini map, it says i got all 4 chests. I even clicked them one by one and made sure all including the exotic chest “fly” to my inventory bag at the icon banner. However, when I open my inventory, it’s never there.
Ok so i just defeated tequatl again after more than 48 hours to be extra sure. Same thing happened. I made sure I opened the chest with the exotic container in the queue first to avoid it from opening automatically, but still I only have the other 3 noob chests. ugh
I did however receive 2 new rare crafting materials aside from the chests but honestly doubt its from the exotic chest

You are, indeed. One thing…is the character receiving the chest(s) Level 45 or higher?
Have you tried a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted file(s)?

Not sure how much the screenshots would help but below is “proof” that I received the exotic chest but isn’t showing up in my inventory. The rewards from the previous tequatl battle are all in the third last row (before opening the ground chest)

Seems odd. You don’t have any bags/boxes that Exotic items automatically go in, do you?
Oh, this character isn’t parked there, is it? It may have run into Diminishing Returns if it is. So…does this happen with every character that does this event? Does this character move off the map and do other content, or, at least, content other places in the map?
If a clearing of the cache and/or repair of the client offers no help, you can contact the CS Team.

Diminishing returns is a possible theory, but it would be new for that chest — I did it for several months in a row and got the exotic each time. (Same toon.)
