[Tested]Can be targeted while under Stealth in sPvP
Bumping this.
Once again clarifying that I am not referring to being hit while under stealth as a bug. I realize that if I run into the path of projectiles or into a ground targeted spell then I will take damage while under stealth.
I am referring to having myself be targeted through the use of clicking on where I am or the Tab key (thus putting an arrow above my head and a circle around my feet) while under the effects of stealth. Which means the enemy can know where I am at all times and even auto-attack me with things like ranged attacks as if I am not invisible.
If that is how the Stealth function is supposed to work, then what exactly is the point of it being in the game?
The exact testing I did to prove this: Went onto an empty sPvP server with a friend, went on opposing teams and met up in the center of the map. After I used a skill that put me under the effects of stealth my friend was able to hit tab and target me (as in I was his current target at the top middle of the screen), and then continue auto-attacking me with his longbow as if I wasn’t invisible.
Were the two of you in a group before entering the match? Because if you were, your stealth does nothing against him. You’re party members, he can see you when you stealth. You can also see each other’s dots on the map if you were grouped before going in. This is also a bug, certainly, but the issue is different from what you’ve described.
Similarly, if an enemy is targeting you with a channeled attack such as the ranger’s longbow rapid fire, the attack will continue to track you and hit you if you stealth partway through it.
EDIT: And in response to “It is incredibly frustrating using the Stealth skill while downed and have somebody continue to auto-attack me like nothing happened”:
Everyone knows how the thief downed skills work by now. The stealth doesn’t move you. It’s simple enough when a thief stealths while downed to just start hitting your 1 key and keep hitting them, even if you can’t see them. The real advantage to the skill is that people can’t start stomping you while you’re stealthed, and if a stomp goes off while you’re stealthed it does nothing.
Even with other stealth skills, most people have figured out they can still hurt you and will attack where they think you are. It’s up to you to move unpredictably once they can’t see you.
“Come! Break your weapons upon me!”
