If this is a Balance fix then we can say RIP to Thief, A lot of activities in WvW as well as Dungeon Speed Clear groups that use it to skip trash

It’s a normal part of patching any game, not just Guild Wars 2. Things break unexpectedly. You slowly figure out why, and fix them. No need to get your knickers in a bunch. They will get to it.

I normally don’t stay stealthed longer than 3 seconds anyways in PvP. In many situations its a waste of time.
If this isn’t a bug though, I think it might be time to invest in new games because I don’t like the idea of already weak classes getting one of their few forms of party support nerfed.
lol Karma is a funny thing. In IMHO no class should be able to apply those kind of dots, with that kind of burst dmg, and stealth for that long. If its just a bug I’m sure that a nerf is just down the road for the class.
Yes Aguri, that’s generally true for Thief in PvP, but that’s not the only place Thieves are used. Also, what about SA line taking a hard Nerf with this bug or stealth rezzes or one of Thief’s few condi removals being severely hampered? Saying ‘eh, good thieves don’t stay in stealth that long anyway’ is completely wrong and nonsense. This is coming from someone that uses Necro/Mesmer for PvP BTW.
Plz fix this soon Anet. Why in the hell do we need 4 bug hotfixes after the very minescule patch/gemstore update today anyway?

I’m not okay with this. That’s why I said if it’s permanent I wont be. I’ve just gotten used to the fact that 95% of the time in PvE people ignore my attempts at stealth and either attack enemies or run through my SR/Smoke blasts… even if I give them a heads up. I don’t believe it’s good to take such a crucial part to thieves already limited party support away, but I’m saying I can survive a weak or two with it broken (it sort of already is anyways…) if I had to and that it’s not the end of the world. Also wanted to throw it out there before any PvP QQers that think that stealth is what gives thief their strength showed up.
As for the SA stuff… I can’t think of anywhere other than WvW where the SA trait line might be useful for longer periods of staying stealthed and even then it’s just for scouting and roaming since thieves aren’t really part of the meta there.

I never implied it was a good thing. O.o and, no matter what for or how useful it is anywhere, my point was that this makes a Master Minor trait useless. As for the party support aspect, I couldn’t have made my empathy more clear past stating that I main PvP Necro.
Don’t give up. This is a bug, and not a ‘feature’.

Lots of things are broke right now, that are really broke…
For example, take any of the WvW maps whereas enemy guards appear in your tower or camp. Guards are fighting guards triggering activity when nothing is really there…

It’s quite likely that a lot of ‘backend’ stuff got included as well. Prep work for the next beta, maybe.

I can’t say I’m upset about it really. Personally I’m getting a bit tired of thief being a required member in literally everything because of things like group stealth. I hate whenever any class becomes required really.
I hate how this game does dungeons, I hate skipping things I hate stealthing past things. I hate exploiting encounters by standing on ledges and other stupid stuff. I for one am glad it’s broken.
This doesn’t affect you as a thief, if your build isn’t heavily dependent on stealth, as mine is. I use blinds and evasion instead.
I quite like this, sadly it will be fixed.

You do realize mandatory and voluntary have different definitions for a reason?
You have the option to stealth past things, if it was mandatory, the mobs would not be so easily killable, or just invulnerable.

He, or she, pretty obviously means the way the players have worked out how to maximise efficiency, by doing that.
Obviously, it’s not literally mandatory, as far as the game is concerned, but if everyone else in your group thinks it is (and insists you do it, too), is pretty much is, to all intents and purposes.

in wvw it actually is
