I have no idea what I’m doing to cause this. I’ve been leveling my dual dagger ele and I keep getting this error message.

It’s certainly nothing game breaking but.. it is a bit annoying to have it pop up every few seconds in big red text on my screen.

Have you been killing risen grubs? That message now pops up when you slay one; it’s a by-product of a routine ArenaNet put in at the last patch to fix an exploit where people were overfarming risen grubs.

didn’t think of that, but that probably would be why.

Unfortunately every time you kill a risen grub, even in personal story, you’ll get this annoying message.

this is NOT the way to fix content, and shows a complete laziness on the part of the Anet devs. seriously? rather than fixing the issue, you just put up an in game sign… SO LAZY.

whoever implemented this as a ‘fix’ should be fired, this is inexcuseably lazy.

I had this message the last 3 story missions. Really annoying. Also using an ele.

its cuz of an exploit Rucser arent u being to hard on them? i mean come on lol, its not like they are going to leave it like that. . . thats why they have TEMPORARILYdisabled, god ppl and their insta rage :/

I confirm this, in the middle of the screen, plus chat, plus it’s red; I am not sure this need to be so annoying; Breaks story immersion.

I also got this error while trying to open the merchant window with Muirikroomk, the quaggan merchant found on the southwest corner of laughing gull island @ bloodtide coast

Got this message too yesterday and not only for grubs but also boars and well many many other mobs. I completed a whole daily progress and revealed a whole area. When I logged back in today, all progress had been reversed. -.-

Does anyone know if there were server issues yesterday? … like a crash or such?
I think there’s a connection between the message and the progress loss. but that’s just a theory.

Like Discroll I have had the same problem. Although I am not sure if it is always Risen Grubs. I think it is also for other creatures. I see it in story mode, which is weird since you can’t farm the personal story line. I have the feeling that what it is really telling me is that Hey you couldn’t have had a drop but guess what, you get nothing. I understand they had to stop the speed farming.. but .. maybe I should stop doing the story line for now and just explore the open world area or something until it is fixed.

This has been happening to me too. Like clockwork for grubs, and occasionally other undead mobs.
Not fair, but I’m glad I know what it is.

Killing grubs and some kind of undead fools makes this message pop up. Seriously, their pathetic attempts to stop botting are just annoying more decent players and bugging them out of the game, than they do help prevent botting.

It’s there for a reason, obviously if they took the time to disable the grubs they are probably working on it. Never seen some people rage so hard over the smallest crap.

Echelon, this isn’t raging this is just people trying to understand what is going on and why it is happening. there is nothing wrong with asking questions.

Yup, same message here – I noticed it first when I was killing risen giants (who of course, summons several phases of grubs). I’m sure it’s only temporary and that it will be sorted by ArenaNet soon enough.

Hm, so no one else experienced a set back of data? ..
There goes my theory of it being related to the chat messages. :/

I’m getting this message every time I level up, even if it’s just gathering or crafting. I haven’t seen it in relation to anything undead yet.

Mods: I am not original poster obviously, but the issue addressed here is far too old to be relevant to anything new, and feel you should consider closing. The issue addressed has long since been solved. Unsure why prior poster revived thread when there was one that specifically addressed current issue. I assume they just did not see it.

Edit: I’m not posting again in this thread because it does not need to keep getting bumped.

The link I provided here, is to the same thread as the post that follows, and is the one that should be posted in. The issue in this thread is old, long since resolved, and effectively irrelevant to the current issue, and should be closed or at least avoided by everyone so it can once again be buried.

It IS a new issue as of the June 25th patch, and we are being asked to help.
