Apologies in advance if this contains spoliers.

One of the early quests for the Durmand Priory involves your character retrieving a Dwarven scabbard from the bottom of a lake. The first stage has you collecting random artifacts which I complete without a hitch, the second stage has you collect the scabbard itself which is no problem and stage three marks an area on the map where you need to take the scabbard to.

Here’s where the fun begins. The scabbard actually replaces your hotbar due to it being used as a sword, after fighting my way through the attacking pirates I reach the highlighted area which is on land. The moment I exit the water the scabbard vanishes from my character and the quest doesn’t progress any further.

I’m unable to retrieve the scabbard again, it literally just vanishes.

Am I doing something wrong or is this bugged?

The same thing happens to me. I’ve tried it about 6 times including after reloading the whole game twice.

I just completed the quest using some pointers from others who’ve had the same problem. After picking up the sheath, head towards the shore west of the lake and drop it as close as you can to the waters edge without coming out of the water (pick a shallow area). Then, get out of the water, pick up the scabbard while you’re still in your ‘on land’ state then run along the path back to roughly the same spot you were standing when the quest started.
