There’s a bug in the personal story quest Stone Sheath. I get the sheath, swim back to the final location, and nothing happens. Just, nothing. So I can’t complete the quest.

Please fix :-)

Alright, the third try is the charm, it worked this time. But sometimes, when bringing the sheath out of the water it wigs out an dissappears.

I’ve tried it twice and had the same problem. I get to “safety” and nothing happens.

Yup same thing here. cant complete. Nothing happens. Please fix this soon

for continue that quest try to drop the weapon under water near beach and exit from water and then pickup the weapon ( dont go underwater )

this problem is also happen for me when i swim to shore the weapon disappears from my hands all together.

I’ve had this happen, although I just ran around for about 4 minutes and went close to the water edge and the cutscene triggered. Definitely something up with this quest though!

My last, and fourth try was about a week ago, and it’s still broken. I really don’t feel like going through all of that again, but my story progression has been halted for a week. Ugh.

Umm Harpy’s fix sounds complicated, do what someone else suggested. I posted this in Guru when I finally figured it out.

Swim to the shore, stay underwater drop the sheath.
Go onto land and nudge close enough to pick up the sheath without going into the water, and viola you’re no longer progression blocked.

Same bug here… if you go with the sheath to the land and go back in water the sheath disappears!

It’s actually very easy and it works 100%. I tried the suggestion of dropping it on the beech, climbing out of the water and picking it back up… this didnt work for me, as soon as i picked it up it glitched and disappeared. My answer works 100% because before completing the quest i restarted it to make sure it was possible to get the scabbard out of the water using the same method… it works and is very easy.

Cutscene don’t start also with the scabbard. We used the ShadowX solution to make the scabbard not desappear, it worked but the cutscene don’t start.

I’m getting this too. Couldn’t try a second time with the fix as the sheath doesn’t appear at all on re-entry.

If you are having trouble getting the cut scene once you get the scabbard out of the water, try walking near the water. If you go to the exact position your ally was at when you first entered the instance, the scene should start.

This is so Broken, reported in no less then FOUR times, now. I’ve tried it over a dozen times, and nothing suggested here has helped. I seriously can’t believe they actually took the time to fix difficulty issues on this mission according to patch notes while IGNORING the fact that the mission’s basic mechanics are completely screwed up. This is not an ignorable fault like a stuck event, this is a main storyline quest that WILL NOT COMPLETE.

Still bugged can’t finish this part of storyline. Cut scene does not start and whats happening is that the character is automatically rearming, therefore, dropping the scabbard.

Lets get this fixed as its been over a month now since it was first reported.

I completed this some time ago, but it was bugged so bad that I had to have a friend come in and keep the mobs off my kitten while I carried the sheath to shore.

I seriously can’t believe this is still broken. Good thing I hadn’t gone with my plan to wait until it was fixed..

Human engineer…this is STILL bugged…can’t progress my storyline…hugely frustrating…tried 4 times…will try shadowX solution but this should have been fixed by now!

I was hoping this would be fixed in the big update, but I just tried it again and it’s still bugged.

I can drop the sheath underwater and pick it up again, but when I leave, it vanishes completely.

Bug #1: After retrieving the scabbard, it becomes like an equipped weapon. However, if you go onto land while you have it— the item vanishes completely. Preventing the personal story line step from completing.

Bug #2: While still under water, if you drop the scabbard just of land’s edge. You can go onto land and pick the scabbard up while on land. Letting you get past the vanishing scabbard bug. However, when you take the scabbard into the destination green circle the personal story line does not progress. It remains at the stage which says “Escape with the scabbard.”

Found a solution to the second bug I sighted: You have to fool around with the swords attack skills while stood in the circle to get the personal story step to complete. It should just complete soon as you enter the circle though.

When u get out of the water the scabbard disapears and u cant complete.

Solution:

When u have the scabbard swim towards the green circle and just before u get out of the water drop it, get out of the water and then pick it up. Now u can complete.

For some reason i cannot complete the storyline mission for the engineer called, The Stone Sheath. Everytime i try to come ashore to deliver the quest item, the stone sheath, to the destination it disappears.

Am i doing something wrong or is this mission broken?

First, your profession has nothing to do with it. This mission is the same for all characters, as long as they choose to become a member of the Durmand Priory.

And this is a known bug (although I thought it had been corrected before). There is a solution to your problem, though.

When you approach the shore, drop the bundle in shallow water before you break the surface (while you still have your underwater skillbar). Then get out of the water (which changes you to your regular skillbar), and pick up the bundle item from the shore.
You can then proceed to give it to Magister Sieran.

I didn’t have a problem losing the scabbard going from water to land- but the cutscene didn’t trigger right away when I got to safety. I managed to trigger it by running around inside the green zone until it showed

There seems to be another bug. The sheath disappear right after I pick it up even though the tip says “escape with the sheath”. I tried 4 times, and every time the sheath never show up in my hand after clicking it… My story is now stuck…
