The Trading Post is being manipulated!
The auction house doesn’t allow for you to sell items on the AH for or below vendor price, even if that’s someones offer, you cannot accept it.
Essentially, people are selling to the trading post this way in order to avoid having to walk back to the bank or a merchant… they free up their inventory faster and get less profit out of it. In essence, its the price of laziness… and 1 copper is fairly cheap to lose when higher level players have to spend like 1 silver or more on waypoints.
Is it right? Not sure… but I think that explains why people sell to the TP how they do partially.
I also believe some people might not consider that they can sell to heart merchants, which might explain some of it as well.
Edit: Sorry, misunderstood what you were saying. This doesn’t explain that particular problem.

Yes that’s true but say some thing is selling for 2 silver and some one wants to take advantage of the auction house. They make a offer of 20 copper and now all future offers are going to show 20 copper and its worth 32 copper to a vendor and now people who don’t know any better are going to sell the item for 33 copper. Now the guy who manipulated the price gets the items for 33 copper instead of 2 silver.
Ah, sorry. Yeah thats an entirely different problem.. It is certainly possible to take advantage of the pricing and how people don’t know what things cost at this stage. As time goes on I guess we should hope the economy will have the built in defense against this thing of people just getting to understand the prices but yeah thanks for bringing it up.
