Guild Wars 2

I wasn’t sure where to post this and I’d like the developers to read this if at all possible.
GW2 is an incredible game, I bought it not too long ago and it absolutely blew me away a thow good it is, however I can’t socialize in the game much…because I can’t read the chat with ease.

I’m legally blind and the chat font and font size(even at largest) are simply not enough for me to be able to look at the chat and see what’s written there with ease, I have to make significant eye straining effort in order to read it. I applaud the designers for not making the background fully transparent like the Aion chat, but the font is exceptionally difficult for me to see.

I maxed out the entire UI size and chat font size and it’s still too difficult and eye straining to read.

As an example of good chats I can read with relative ease:
- FF14
- WoW
- TERA

all have good, large enough and CLEAN easy to see chat fonts that when set to their maximum sizes are rather easy for me to see and read.

I really want to keep playing GW2 and I want to interact with people at some point too but at this rate interacting seems like it’s going to be quite difficult for me
Reading character names above their heads is out of the quesiton too, that’s completely ilegible to me but I don’t mind that, i have the same issues in FF14 and such it’s not a problem.

The chat however, I really really need the chat to look just right so I can enjoy the game fully.

No problem. And nice to hear you are enjoying the game despite all. And rest assured they have read this, just a reply or solution may not come as fast as we would hope/want.

I am in much the same boat as you are, not legally blind but with “computer eyes” that have been mis-prescribed with the wrong prescription for over 15 years…

The font is hard to see even when maximized – the "large font: means everything else spills out of the program – and that makes it unplayable – font should be its own category in the settings under graphics but somehow it makes everything bigger.

It’s a problem I have asked about before, but two years on we still have no real answer.
