Ever since the HoT Update, my inventory would resize every time I logged in.

I have max possible storage on all my characters and I use the Hide Bag option so all I see are the slots.

Since I have a huge inventory, and do not want to scroll, the max size that I can stretch it out to is 20 slots wide. At this width, I can see all the slots without scrolling.

I got annoyed that after logging in, it would shrink to 19 wide and then having to resize it. So I just rearranged my items and left it at 19 wide since I could still see every slot without scrolling. After closing the game and reopening, the inventory would then shrink to 18 wide.

After that, it shrinks to 17 wide.

The game shrinks the inventory every time the game is closed completely and reopened.

I remember when the game kept track of our inventory stretch and honored our desired inventory size.

Ya this has been really annoying for a long time. They did actually fix it one time between an update, but it came back again. This has been here for a long time and I have reported over and over.

It’s fixed for some people and not for others — it’s only resized for me maybe once since HoT, but pre-HoT, it was doing it all the time.

To help them troubleshoot, each time it happens, use the in-game /bug reporting tool to file a report. Even though you won’t get a personal response, the QA team will get specific data that might help them track down what’s going on.

(And yeah, it’s really really annoying — I used to move my inventory panel all the time and I stopped, since that often prevented the issue from showing up the next day.)

Just chiming in to say I’ve had this bug also, for longer than I can remember.

I’m replying to note that I’m using Nvidia DSR and so my game resolution is set to 2880×1620, whilst my monitor is only 1080p (1920×1080).

AMD have their equivalent also (VSR) and I suspect that this disparity of game res vs detected max monitor res might be part of the problem…

Poss. simple rounding bug (width in pixels <→ visible tiles) when storing the window size every time?

For me that stopped the resizing.

I’ll give that a shot and report back, thanks. Would certainly help the Devs if this consistently works as a workaround…

Yes. I remember them fixing it before the Wardrobe introduction. I was so happy. And then the next update broke it again.

Do you have your interface size on large or larger? There used to be a bug concerning NPC descriptions with larger interface size too.

Anyway, as it was mentioned, this has been around since forever. I wouldn’t count on them fixing it (again). Though it’s one of the most annoying bugs (save the recent options resetting) for me.
