How did you think there A-net? really, I’m curious. Do you even play wvw? I mean does ANYONE in the A-net dev team actually play wvw?
We can’t see spell effects, can’t see our own characters. Keep running in to invisible sanctuary bubbles that don’t render.
You’ve constantly dropped the ball over and over before but this is beyond that. It’s more like you dropped a ball, made out of cast iron, the size of Texas on a children’s hospital made out of papier mache.

Btw, I expect this post to be deleted and myself to receive a ban or at the very least an infraction or two since that’s how the A-net forum gestapo officers suppress any opinions voiced that are in any way negative towards anything about the game. Even when reporting bugs or hacks you are told that "don’t post this on the forums because we like to pretend that nothing’s wrong with the game because ignoring the problems and quieting people down actually makes the problems go away.

I approve of the OP’s post from start to finish. The forum mods are no doubt going to brush another valid point under the carpet to save face. But the people will speak with their wallets.
I totally agree with OP. All thats being done is focus on PVE content while a allot of us dont even go there. All I do in GW2 is play WvW and normally enjoy it very much.
Thanks to my awesome guild I still enjoy playing WvW, even after all this time hardly anything has changed for us in WvW.. the same maps over and over…
Last patch has realy pushed me over the edge though. It totaly ruined WvW. How are we supposed to play this broken part of the game.
Siege not rendering, enemy siege not rendering,spelleffects not rendering etcetera… going from full health to half because its impossible to see youre being attacked…. add to that the ever present SKILL LAG and all WvW has turend into is.. whatever zerg / group starts firing first wins… bye bye tactics…
Enough is enough, time to invest more in that other playerbase of yours Anet.

This new patch is just kittenED, to say the least. If this new Spell Effects bullkitten was tested at all, it wasn’t tested in WvW. Heck, nothing gets tested in WvW. Who cares about WvW.. Anet surely doesn’t.. As long as we pay for our gems
Us WvW players have had enough Anet. We have had to go from not being able to see anyone to not being able to cast anything.. Now we have BOTH..
We can’t see kitten; we can’t see any field on the floor, we can’t see any difference between heals/attacks/utilities or whatsoever..
Anet, sort your kitten out and actually look at WvW for a change.. A lot of your players never go to that crappy temporarily PvE content, to grind all day.
Sure, some of your fixes MIGHT have a positive impact on PvE/PvP.. but you are killing WvW.
But to be honest.. Please anet, keep looking at PvE and the Gemstore in particular.. You are doing an awesome job at it!
I know that I can’t be arsed with the game atm, as it is completely unplayable for the parts I am interested in.

This issue is not limited to WvW I’m afraid.
Yes, they do play actually. How many though is another story. How do I know this? Because since the server resets this past Friday I’ve run into the same Arena Net developer playing on the opposing side. SBI if I recall correctly not that it matters. Anyway, point is – they do play. And he or she wasn’t just stopping by to shoot the breeze has they actually stayed in the map (EB) for hours. Friday and Saturday night.
Now, what does this have to do with you, the OP’s, comment? I don’t really know other than they play. I think the bigger issue is if they actually test anything before they release it? Seems this patch has caused several issues since release sadly. I’ve heard in game, and in various forums things like:
1. Slow client load when switching zones
2. No badges for WvWvW JP’s
3. Culling
Just to name a few. And…if you look at how many patches have been applied since the release you have to give credit to the team since they are fixing everything has fast has they can…

IMO, it’s not fast enough. Anet have put themselves into a position where updates and fixes has to happen overnight otherwise time is being wasted while I do nothing but waiting for fixes on my allotted game time. Yes, players with life has to allot game time. It agitates me if things aren’t fixed instantaneously because this causes me to be behind in completing the achievements given that the event is only temporary. Then I simply just stopped caring, it really is not worth to stress about.
The sad thing is, I know that Anet worked kitten this content and that they want players to enjoy their creation, but with limited time and haphazard quality assurance…I simply cannot enjoy it.
These types of releases should not be praised, otherwise they will not change their ways, since all they have to do it simply take the time on polishing the content before releasing it.

This was the first forum post made on the issue, which also went to a forum post in the bugs section (Both on the first posts of the forum sub-sections; Bugs and WvW Discussion). On the first one, the one not even in the bugs section, the GW2 have already commented on it, and said they’re pretty sure what’s causing the problem; and that they’ll be getting a fix out.

Sadly I agree with the OP. I’ve also had posts deleted when I brought up issues that still have yet to be addressed. And you’ll notice in Q&A there are specific questions that will be completely ignored.

I’ve been having trouble seeing red AoE circles and spell effect since Tuesday’s patch WITHOUT having Effect LoD selected.
I’m not the only one either, half of my guild was having the same problem today in EB vs arrow carts. I was moving and dodging all around in what looked like safe ground but I was still hit by constant damage. It’s been the same with Lines of Warding, I get constantly knocked down by what seems like nothing.
If you really care, I have it fraps’d and can upload it.

You really don’t understand how game breaking this issue is.
We literally cannot see any of the spell effects, nor the red circles from them.
It makes commanding an absolute nightmare, especially when you are running with 25-30 people against 70+. Movement is everything for a smaller group! Imagine (because you clearly don’t play WvW so you will have to imagne this) not being able to see your own water fields, nor the enemy static fields, lines of warding, sanctuary, or even ground targeted aoe’s. How can you possibly expect us to take on larger groups when we cannot move or even regroup safely?
The ‘Effect LOD’ setting does not make any difference to this issue.
This issue is literally breaking the game, and turning it into ‘which blob hits first wins’. Small groups are being killed off by this.
Fix this fast or you will loose even more WvW players (not that you care).
On a side thought: This is probably a stealth buff for arrowcarts, can’t see the circles!
Clearly the dev that responded was told by someone else to post that, or they where reading off a flow chart of answers to use, because they clearly have NO IDEA what is actually going on in WvW.
How about a dev that actively plays in WvW and gets involved in the zerg fights, and let us know how you handle,
Enemies not spawning,
Allies not spawning,
Being out of combat then suddenly getting instant downed because the game decided oh you should have taken all this damage 5 mins ago,
GFX being all messed up,
The list goes on,
The only issue I had before this update on Tuesday was the skill delay when 50v50 clashed in open field, as of Tuesday WvW is unplayable, I used to beable to log on any time of day and get straight into a battle, now the BL’s are dead.

+1 internal communication fail. This guy clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about, refer to the forum above for reasonable dev responses.
You may think some comments are rude but as you see they have enough the patience is over.
I’m not noticing this issue, even with effect LOD on… Perhaps it’s an issue with some hardware?
Your all going to be better off trying to help solve the issue than simply complaining alone.

Same problems. Massive culling, players and structures not even rendering until I’m right next to them, entire landscapes just disappearing, 5-6 second skill lag. I have a decent machine and none of these things were occuring before this new event went live.
I was in the river by south camp last night and every detail, object and creature disappeared and I was stuck in place until I waypointed. freezing up in a tower and 20 seconds later Im dead without even seeing anything happen because the 10 players beating on me didnt even render on my screen.
