[Thief] *Possible* Steal Sync Bug
I noticed that too, it’s only like a second though.
Well, I’m having incredible latency since July 1. Almost impossible for me to play anything let alone thief atm. When i run over launch pads in Skyhammer the rubber banding won’t let me launch. Any displacement ability i activate or any stun/snare/knockback rubber bands me and my character just gets locked up forever teleporting everywhere.
The new change to steal i think is also bugging me out. I’ll steal without being blocked/dodged and land next to the target, then instantly after, get rubber banded back to my starting position with no stolen item and a steal CD. (While in range and on flat ground).
This is possibly just the server problem combined with being Oceanic.
Overall, i hate this update. Cool, continue the Lore, but most people can’t even play the content or any part of the game atm, some can’t even log in.

That change is related to the ‘fix’ they did, it’s checking if you are actually able to steal the item. Just wait until you do teleport on the steal, then reappear where you were so your skills miss… on a clear path >.<
And yes, server lag has been worse the past month. (Don’t even get me started on the shadowstep/blink misbehaviors
Didn’t consider a bug that this introduces now that it delays to check…
It shadowsteps you yes, but then, it apparently checks if you were within range to steal the item, from your previous spot… so if the target is running, and you were pretty much at max range already, it will say ‘Out of Range’, you won’t get the item, and it goes on full recharge… despite having already shadowstepped you to the target and you’ve already started attacking them.
I presume this is also a part of or what did break the Stealth on Steal trait.
