Thief , and stealth
Same thing happened to me a few times when I use stealth + 3sec on using stealth is very bad for smoke bomb the time I click it its gone again then have to wait awhile before I can use it again
Basically GW2 has some performance issues, along with latency issues at times. So our 3sec stealth is really 0sec, and here’s how:
Once Stealth is up, you’ve already lagged 1.5 sec
When it’s done, you’ve lagged another 1.5 sec
there for, stealth in PVP in this game, is pretty worthless until they make it either instant cast, or add more time to it later.

But its not just stealth, its pretty much with all defensive skills.
Even tho i must say stealth seams OP in pvp…Possibility to just press invis and walk away from any attacker is anoying ^^

im glad its not instant cast thats too stong, the slight delay means you have to use it with a little thought.
a “little thought” is fine, being visually deceived by your own skill however is not.
This however is coming from the subjective answer of a player however and thus may not be true. This sounds more like a bug
I haven’t noticed this but good to know, imo I think stealth is just too short since the only real way I could find to make it worth my while to even pick it up was if It was a dedicated build to chain stealth moves. That being said a couple things about the mechanics of thief sort of annoy me a little just like with the necromancer there is no solid at a glance method that screams your out of range of target which becomes a real concern when you start messing around with shadow step because its very very easy be in range then suddenly not and by when you do click shadow-step it is wasted. that annoyed me greatly I would much rather the ability do nothing if your out of range.
Ideally I would like to have out of range attacks greyed out on the hotbar while this will not break the challenge of the game as clicking them anyway will still waste the move but at least the at a glance visual is easier to see as to avoid the mistake of a miss calculation of the range.
Yeah, this is rather annoying for stealth being defensive skill (ie. cloak&dagger, stealth heal) as once the skill is locked at you (cast time) at least from NPCs even if you move they just turn while you are in stealth and shoot you in the face.
Yeah thief is almost useless in PvP if u dont use ranged, how are we even supposed to approach the enemy as a thief if we only got 3 seconds of stealth!? and evertime we use that as an escape we still get hit by that unavoidable arrow machine gun of rangers.

5 – 10 seconds of stealth

I think this is working as intended. For those using cloak and dagger. There is a trait that blinds your opponents every time you stealth whilst next to them. So that they will miss their last attack on you.
This is from some one who plays pistol/dagger + short-bow thief in WvW and never dies.

I have had countless issues with Stealth not working, targets still casting on me or knocking me out of stealth, they need to increase the time on it or fix it because it’s pretty much broke!
and Steal is still a little bugged too!!!!!
The time increase does not solve the issue, the problem is related that you are locked target to the skills that those skills check the target validation (apparently) only when you start the skill and not when the skill actually goes off. The 3 seconds (4 sec with the shadow minor) is fine – However if you consider what additions to the class stealthiness would come is to remove the stealing trait and make it normal behavior for steal to stealth you for 2 seconds.
At the same time fix the steal too not to activate unless you are at range.
Encountered the same problems. We need this to be fixed or the stealthy side of the thief is going to be just a joke

Oky so i encountered a bug that realy makes me mad every time .
Lets take for an example a Elemntalist that cast his fire ball and in midlle of his cast i am going stealth it still casted and hit me althought he suppose have lost target/miss or w/e . One more Example is Ranger that chanels his Rpaid Fire and after 2 arrows i am going stealth rest of arrows keep hiting me and again he lost his target that whole point of stealth correct me if i am wrong .
Ok lets look at what this you say that if you go into stealth mode even after you have been targeted and attacked in that split second after they already sent their attack. That attack should be gone right? Unfortunatly it does not work that way. After the attack has finished, they should not be able to attack you again if your still in stealth.
I have shadow refuge and I love it they can be right next to me attacking and boom use that they walk away. However if they are still attacking just before its use those attacks still finish as expected. Your stealth does not give you the ability like shadowform did.
However compared to guildwars stealth it is alot better. Shadowstepping in guildwars does not work at all only time it did was using shadow of haste and that is only because of the distance factor way away from what you are fighting.

Stealth only lasts 3 seconds, so “just walking away” doesn’t really get you very far. It is possible to chain stealths if you don’t attack, but you need to have the appropriate abilities equipped and not on CD. It’s no more OP than the elementalist’s Mist Form invulnerability.
5 – 10 seconds of stealth
Disagree strongly.
3 seconds of stealth is more than enough to fit well with the pace of GW2’s combat. It makes it useful if used carefully, without being an OP get-out-of-jail-free card that could be abused by even the worst players.
It’s not meant to be a tool for endless assassination ambushes, where you take your target down to 25% before they even know you’re there. It’s meant to be a deception and distraction technique, and it works very well as that in its current form.

Here are some bugs I have noticed while playing my thief. Feel free you add your own. These are mostly PvP related.
- Stealth doesn’t stop players from channeling spells on you. If someone channels and long spell on you just before you stealth the channel will continue to hit you. I have had spells hit me for the entire duration of stealth, while at the same time revealing my location to the enemy (this is why autoface needs to be removed from the game).
- The trait Hidden Thief is currently bugged when using the short bow autoattack (1) skill. Attacking an enemy and stealing at the same time will break stealth. This probably has something to do with the travel time of the arrow.
- Signet of Shadows passive movement speed increase is not being applied while in combat. It is easy to see the thief pick up speed while out of combat.
- Infiltrators arrow seems to not work on some location while in combat, for example Battle of Kylo.
