I’ve noticed that it’s incredibly difficult to land a from behind stealth skill when you’re either A) by yourself in PVE or B) in a large group fighting a champion/veteran mob.
Situation A:
Fighting a normal mob, you stealth, they sprint away back to their tethered location and you chase them trying to land the sneak attack before stealth wears off (which feels like 1.5 seconds) . So to get around this, you fight near where they originally were standing, but still, it’s terrible chasing down mobs that run much faster than you, even with stealth speed buffs.
Situation B:
A large group fighting a mob, the mob is constantly changing directions and turning as it smacks random people. You would either have to ask everyone to fight on the same side or just get lucky with your swing. It’s still very troublesome to land a double-dmg sneak attack move from behind when the mob is always turning, I rarely get the dmg bonus in that scenario.
Proposed solution: Remove the “from behind” rule on these moves. I mean, in theory it’s great, and in small groups of 2-5 players you’re going to land it. But in PVP and the other situations it’s very difficult and frustrating. I hope some others have had these experiences, because you really want to land that attack, it’s a great skill, just doesn’t work so well in practice.
