Krewe Leader Dobbs does not move, event is broken.

Also, the nearby heart is hard to complete because there are no golems to protect and repair, you can only pick up artifacts and put them in the crates. Some of the artifacts disappear before you can place them in a crate. This artifacts are broken since release of the game.
Some even disappear before you can pick them up and because its the only way to complete the heart other players want them too.

Seems to be an ongoing problem.

Event is bugged from beta and still won’t restart properly.
Good job ANet.
Now you require us to buy junk from this event NPC for silly collector achievement?
Also Rankor Ruins Waypoint is contested permanently.

I can confirm. Dobbs is stuck, just keeps standing in the same spot forever.

Yes, please fix this. For a couple of weeks now I’ve been trying to get the collectible from Dobbs and have been unable to as the event will not start. He hangs out on the shore across from Gyre Rapids waypoint. Every once in awhile he’ll walk over to the renown heart and hang out there. I’ve never seen the event actually cycle. One time I did find him at the end where he should be but he was not a merchant. The other two npcs merchants were there though. It was weird.

Yip its bugged, but not perma bugged .. I got the item from him a few days ago .. the event was miraculously live when I jumped in and finally got the item .. not seen it running again since though

Basically, to get this done, you have to zone into the map once the “main” instance of it is filled enough to create a new version. If you can find a new version of the map, you’ll be able to do the event. If not, you’ll be SOL.

Sadly, by the time I got home from work yesterday, Dobbs was bugged again. >.< Back to waiting for another patch to reset the servers.

Still bugged, Stormbluff Isle.. Anyone have a workaround for this bug? I even got Dobbs killed by a deer and he still just stands there. Please fix this Anet

Still bugged! Extremely annoying that you need this event to unlock the merchent to get your treasure hunter item. Dobbs just stands there.. Why make a new collectable achievement for an event that’s been broken since BETA?!

Since this is still broken, I would like to ask for this to be fixed once again. Not everyone can be online right after an update just to find a working map instance before they get bugged again…

If there is no fast fix for this, please just add the treasure hunter item to the nearby heart vendor instead.

Now there is a second collection that can not be completed because he is bugged still. :/

Just FYI: You can buy the beer for the second collection off the TP for a few copper.

I’m not a “complain about ANet” kind of player, but I am really scratching my head over this one. How is it possible that they would attach now TWO collection achievements to an event that never happens? One that players pointed out a YEAR ago didn’t work and which has never been fixed, even now months after collections were released?

In fact, as far as I can tell, all three broken events needed for treasure hunter (Dobbs, Scholar Riagan, and Scholar Breandan) are ALL still broken.They have to know about it at this point, right? I’ve reported all three myself after every release.

I know there is always more going on behind the scenes than we players are aware of to fixing any issue, and I hesitate to get all indignant for that reason. But this one seems just indefensible at this point.

The fact that at least 2 collectibles come from this chain of events and ANet hasn’t done anything about it baffles me. Are they running from perfect servers when they create these? Can they share the perfect servers with the rest of the players?

This was fixed a couple updates back. I was able to get the Summit Spikes. Whenever they fix things outside of major content updates most of those fixes are thrown away after new content is released, then they go back and fix them again. It’s as if they edit but never save. This is again broken.

This event is one of those that has been bugged since launch. That having been said, it is now bugged in a new way. It used to bug out and all the risen would stop spawning. Now the risen still spawn but Dobbs is still bugged. So it is a new bug on an old bugged event.

A net please transfer this items for other vendors, heart or whatever getting this achievements stuck because of buggy events is getting really annoying

This thread needs to gain some more steam so the devs actually pay attention to it!!! This is silly. This event has been bugged FOREVER!! Then you go and add items from this event to a collection title. Either this is the ultimate troll, or Anet just picks and chooses what they want to actually address.

Still bugged, Krewe Leader Dobbs is still just standing there at the renown heart, or near the shore. I submitted a support request, hopefully more people bringing the issue to Anet’s attention will help. I want to finish the Treasure Hunter collection as well.

Edit: I’ve since then had a reply from ANet support, stating the dev team is aware of the bug and is working on it. So let’s cross our fingers for a quick fix!

Sat next to Dobbs for a good hour. Didn’t do anything. No event, still bugged.

Giving this another bump, have they fixed it yet?

Checked today and Both NPC’s are there and working as expected. Having said that it’s a Sunday so many players will be on this map for 2-MULT so I MAY have been pushed into an overflow. Watch this space… Please continue to report if it is still bugged!

This still appears to be bugged. Been staring at him a long time and he’s not doing much of anything.

Submitted a bug report for it, but we’ll see if that actually does anything.

I’m very surprised this hasn’t been fixed by now seeing how it completely borks the completion of the treasure hunter collection.

When the event is bugged, and u don’t want to wait for a fix for this one.
U have to wait for a game update, once the servers restart, log back in quickly and go to timberline falls and complete the event

I logged in at the right time just as the game was updating and got this wahoo

Guys, I logged in a good 7 hours after the update and the event before protecting krewe leader dobbs was working. We completed it, and Quinta appeared! They fixed the merchant for this achievement!

They have not fixed it, you were just lucky enough to log in to a fresh server.

Seriously Anet, either fix the kitten event or move the collectible items to merchants which are not bugged 99% of the time! It is really frustrating and the solution is so simple.

Pretty disappointing it has come to this to have such an impossible task of completing the treasure hunter achievement.

Guess I’ll have to login to the map on a new patch and hope for the best.

For the people who do log in immediately after a new patch is released, it takes a couple of minutes for the event to fire so just stick around until it does.

And don’t forget to get the alcohol collectible too!

(In the meanwhile if Anet could consider fixing this year old bug, we’d all appreciate it).

Can we look into this please? I’d really like to get this done and get apart of the collection.

Confirmed still bugged as of 4/12/15. Need this for the Treasure Hunter Achievement. I’ve submitted an in-game bug report, but thought I would check here as well.

It makes me feel like there is a trigger for this event, if not it’s still bugged. However, if there is a trigger, i’d really love to hear from Anet that is the case instead.

I’ve heard that Scholar Raigan isn’t bugged, just really difficult to pull off. I got the Orrian Relic just a couple days ago, after someone else did the event. Breandan and Dobbs are both definitely bugged however. And lets not forget the Ogre Wars meta that also has a trait tied to it that no one can get. Its ridiculous man. Anet needs to be taken to task for this.

I need this collection as well. Can we figure out what is wrong with this please?

And i stupid did w8 2 hours 2 times to start and cant complete it nice u fixed making brewmastter journal by adding to npc, add this too, or make it reset, normaly.

So something that was broken over a year ago and reported, still isn’t working correctly? Shame on you Anet, you need to see why this has been broken so long.

It’s quite important that it gets fixed as it is part of the highly desirable Treasure Hunter achievement.

yes, it is still bugged. I have been checking the last few days to see if the event or the vendors are up but no luck. wait for the reset ? seriously ? they can not fix this for years now but they added a collectible achievment item to this vendor. how, just how ill informed these devs are ?!

Devs what the hell are you doing? i need these items to complete my achievement and you haven’t done squat for years now???
