I don’t know if it’s just me, but after today’s patch (just before 2pm server) I can no longer log in with the authenticator (the android 2 way). Game crashes every time I try (still works with logging into forums though). I had to remove it to log in. A fix (or someone telling me what to do to fix it) would be greatly appreciated.

Same for me. Games crashes immediately after inputting authenticator code.

Crashes after entering authenticator key, not even sure it finished the downloads properly.

Same problem here, i use a authenticator as well. Really lame.

So where was QA on this one? I have to lower account security to play, yet QA is holding up a much desired patch (hatchery bug).

anyone confirm if I turn authenticator off that I will be able to log in? It crashed originally while it was still downloading stuff, but never tried to download again on client relaunch.

My client also crashes when I submit my code. Very silly as the previous patch was supposed to make it so I’m not prompted for this code anymore.

After today’s update, my GW2 launcher has crashed upon every login attempt when asking for a mobile authenticator code. My account is linked with the Google Authenticator app for android. Login is successful, but the game crashes when the authentication is submitted. From the dump text the error seems to be an assert of
“argCount == 1” from the game’s Launcher.cpp on line 897. (I launch the game with 2 command line arugments, ‘-bmp’ and ‘-testVerticalFov’.) This error is always reproducible, by simply logging in with an authenticator enabled. I have already submitted the error report when prompted, and I hope an issue of this severity can be resolved quickly.

Yea, add me to the list… had to disable it. I’m going to disable it and do so TP business, then I’ll re-enable it and go play Boarderlands 2 till this get’s resolved.

Tl;dr: we’re aware of the issue, and should have a fix soon!

But my thread is older! Thx for the update though. I can also confirm that removing the authenticator lets you log in.

You don’t have to go through account recovery to remove the authenticator. Just got to My Account -> Security and klick the button.
