Tonight I entered the twilight zone
Sounds like the same bug that some people are experiencing in Fireheart Rise. Don’t know what’s suddenly caused this but I might just avoid Fireheart Rise and EBG for a while!
It’s not specific to EBG and Fireheart Rise per se. We’ve seen this before and (in the past), it’s turned out to be a combined problem with the ANet (virtual) server not communicating properly with players’ version of GW2. It tends to affect all the maps attached to that virtual server and sometimes (as in this case), it doesn’t affect everyone or even necessarily all instances of the map.
I believe you can work around it by guesting until you get a new IP.
I’ve heard (without being able to confirm) that a large guild can “force a fix” by getting 100+ players into the zone, so that it caps and the game is convinced it needs to create a new instance. (As it caps, some players might represent another guild without being in a party with guildies, so that they are more likely to be sent to a new instance.) I’d like to believe this would work; I just haven’t participated in this personally.
