The towers (or I suppose it’s towers, I can’t tell) that are being blown up are invisible, but still have collision. When they do blow up, the debris becomes visible. It’s easy to get stuck inside when this happens and be unable to complete the quest.

I had the exact same thing happen, yesterday and today. No towers, and Tonn will “blow up” something and debris will show. However, this event does not proc on the third part.
