Trading Post Items Bug
I bought lots of materials Last night 30/11/2015 ~ 6pm AEST. Around about 30g worth of materials (which i collected from a Tp vendor) , but when i came on this morning all of the materials where gone. I check all my characters, My bank, my materials tab and my transaction history. The materials where in none of these but the transaction history had said the transaction went through and i know it did because i collected them. I was just wondering if this is a bug which more people have had happen to them or if there is a way i can fix this?
Make a support ticket (follow the links at the top left); Customer Service is the only place you can get direct help about this.
This wouldn’t be a TP bug, if, as reported, you claimed your materials. Separately, I’ve yet to see a documented case of the TP losing track of gold or materials or not showing completed (recent) transactions — any exceptions have always been temporary due to problems with the queue or the relevant server(s) rebooting.
(I’ve seen lots of folks ‘report’ issues in the forums or reddit; I’ve never seen any of them turn out to be other than above or user error).
There are a couple of other possibilities:
- On rare occasion, the server and client lose contact and when they catch up, the player feels that everything has been “reset” (that would include where you left your toon, XP, AP, etc — it’s typically hard to miss). It almost never happens to just one person (we’d see reports about ‘my game reset’), so I doubt this happened… but if you were also experiencing 3000 ping or worse, it’s a remote possibility. Still, you’d see other symptoms.
- ANet does remove gold from accounts that have done business with gold traders (I think if you buy 100g, they only remove 100g). I’ve never heard of them removing materials, although perhaps they might want to remove the items bought with illicit gold, if the account didn’t have enough coin. I don’t mean to suggest that you did; I’m just being thorough.
In other words, it seems very unlikely that the materials just vanished. In your shoes, I’d look for other explanations. (And, I confess, I have panicked before about something similar… which turned out to be user forgetfulness on my part.)
