Not sure if this intended or not but now every time I close the client and reopen it my ‘recently viewed’ section on the TP is wiped. This used to only happen after patches previously. Bug or working as intended?

The “recently viewed” data is held in the cache. Originally, the cache wasn’t cleared (so the info persisted after patches).

It turns out a common fix to a variety of issues is to clear out the cache and it also turns out that a lot of people don’t know how to do this (despite the instructions in these forums etc), they changed it so that the cache would get cleared out “regularly,” meaning after a patch.

It’s possible they’ve decided that preserving three “recently viewed” items isn’t as important as making sure that no one has a corrupted cache and so now it gets cleared on launch (or perhaps closing the game). That would probably prevent a bunch of issues for a lot of people (and reduce the workload for the Customer Service team).

Either way, I don’t remember seeing this mentioned in the patch notes, so it’s worth asking — maybe someone from ANet will let us know.
