Bought a Grandmaster Training Manual yesterday from a merchant in WvW to adjust the trait points on my L80 Engineer. When I double click on it there’s a dull slightly mechanical sound and nothing happens.

I tried buying an Adept’s training manual as one of the changes was to reassign one of my 10pt trait lines, but that has the same problem.

I’ve tried a range of things, including logging out and back but the problem persists. (FYI, while levelling the manuals all worked perfectly, it’s only now that I want to reassign trait points that it’s bugged.)

Now I have 2g10s of bugged training manuals and no way to reassign my trait points.

How do I get this fixed?

to retrait, you go to a trainer and ask to reset your traits, not buy another manual

Ah, the joys of ignorance! Thanks, that’s much easier (and cheaper).
(Guess the manuals will get used on an alt.)

Aww, you can’t use the manuals to reset anymore? It’s more expensive, but adept manuals were handy for re-speccing in the middle of a dungeon. :P

I can’t use my Grandmasters Manual to unlock the Tier to begin with!

Well I feel kind of stupid. I just wasted 2g buying the grandmaster manual because the description says it resets trait points. I didn’t see the other option from the npc to reset points

It would be nice if anet would make it clear on the manual that it “IS NOT REQUIRED TO RESET TRAITS IF ALREADY PURCHASED”. Just like that. So dips such as myself won’t waste money

I’m level 66, I bought and used the 2 manuals before this one.
I double-click and get nothing.

Check your traits to see if you can use more than 20 points in a line. (The right side will be greyed out if you can’t.)

If you end up with an extra manual, you can sell it on the TP for a small loss, save it for an alt, or trade with a friend.

Nope.
Hence it not working.
I double click and hear the page turn sound, but nothing changes in my traits.

I have 20 traits sitting there to use and am now level 80.
Kinda sucks playing handicapped.

Acydreign: I recommend that you create a support ticket for them to follow up with you individual. This seems like a problem specific to your character. Good luck.

If you missed the previous option to retrain your traits its likely you’d miss reading whatever else they add to the manuals anyways.

is the grandmasters training manual supposed to add an extra 30 trait points to my already existing trait points? if so….i already had 50 trait points, i used the previous 2 manuals in order but the grandmasters manual, gave me nothing, i still have the same amount of trait points i had prior to buying it. I’m level 60, and bought the manual from the black citadel. and i’m on mac.

you have to actually level to get more trait points just like your last 50 so you get 20 more for a total of 70 as you level to 80
