I applied the barbaric armor skin on my ‘exotic’ berserker draconic armor and it lost it’s exotic rarity.

If you transmute an exotic item’s stats with, let’s say, a green item’s skin, it will create an item with the green letters.

I think that is because the item you are gaining the look for, you also gain the name of, so it will change to that rarity also.
