This is fun. I can use the HoW skins on any weapon/armor I want, but when I want to use a transmutation stone of any type, it doesn’t do anything. No error message, nothing.

so what have I been trying to transmute?

I HATE the pearl skin on the lvl 80 crafted exotics, so I try to change it to any other skin. Soulbound Pearl Greatsword, not leaving the character, just a little less fugly please. Fine Transmutation Stone says any level, same type. So I try a Jotun Greatsword. Nothing. No lining up, no error, nada.

So I wonder if the “same type” comment applies to weapon grade, thus I pull out another exotic greatsword to try and again, nothing.

Has anyone else been getting the Transmutation Stones acting this way?

It happened to me when I tried it on equipped items. Simply unequipped the stuff I wanted to transmute and it worked.

I have not been able to get the basic or fine transmutation stones to work for a couple of weeks now. I have tried on different characters, with different pieces of armor. I will try unequipping, but even so, I would classify this as a bug.

Was in a patch sometime ago.
Transmuting equipped items no longer works.
So, working as intended.
