When using a transmutation stone on a legendary to change the stats you lose the legendary quality and it is downgraded into an exotic.

Also before I did transmute the legendary, equipping it did not give me the achievement/account medal.

There should have been some kind of warning that this was going to happen. Now I no longer have a legendary, I only have a skin that looks cool, and I am without the achievement account medal. (I know legendaries are skins in the first place, but why would the quality be downgraded, that is ridiculous and quite upsetting)

I demand an explanation as to why this is, and if it is going to be fixed. Quite the unhappy person at the moment.

Because the quality of the item is always from the item which donated the stats. So legendary skin + exotic item stats = exotic.

I am aware of that now. That is the problem. Now I have no achievement/account medal and no legendary.

Hundreds of hours spent to get the legendary and to lose it like that with no warning. Has to be a bug. Not to mention I never got the achievement/account medal.

I am waiting on an official response.

I’m sorry, but I’d suggest next time searching. There are a few topics like this, where both precursors and legendaries lose their ‘statuses’ if they have been transmuted.

ANet, as far as I can tell, acknowledges this as a problem and is working to fix it.
