You can’t see how a transmuted piece of armor actually looks. It looks like the piece from the stats you used.

I see someone posted a quote from the wiki patch notes, and if this is ‘not’ a bug, I’d really like to know what the reasoning behind this was, and if no one thought that this would be a problem.

Otherwise, it’s a bug, and seriously annoying if we have pieces we transmuted to whites and banked months back, we have no idea what they really look like now.

I’m experiencing the same issue and just hopped on here to report it or see if it had already been reported. One additional note, previewing the item in your bag will show you wearing the piece of gear you used to transmute the stats from, but linking the gear to chat (IE whispering it to yourself) and then previewing it will show the skin you used for the transmutation. I feel the bit you have mentioned is most definitely a bug.

Have had several updates since first reported… nothing yet. Please don’t forget us!

8/28/2013. Any transmuted item will not preview correctly whether it is in your bank or your bag.

Just to add to this, in case it helps you track the problem, whenever an item gets damaged, the name of said item (that pops up in your chat) is the original piece of equipment that gave the stats, not the name of the item you have equipped.

We really need a fix for this!
