So i finally got my warrior to level 80. I really like the twilight arbor heavy armour, so i bought myself a set of that. I wanted to dye it all celestial, but when i did there is a dull brown-ish colour to it. I have dyed all the dye slots with celestial, and the brown-ish colour is still there. When i previewed the armour, it was all white. Anyone happend to know how to fix it? I am a sylvari btw, if that even helps.

Certain armors on Sylvari will pick up the character’s glow. (It would show as white in the preview as it is set as a sort of default for all characters.) Is your character’s glow a dull brownish color?

Yeah, that might be the reason, will it help if i bought a makeover kit? is it possible to remove the glow?

It’s not the glow, it’s the character’s skin colour. Twilight Arbor and sylvari cultural armor skins do that, some parts of them always use the sylvari character’s skin colour instead of the armor dye. Compare to the attached picture of my brown-skinned sylvari wearing the same armor dyed with Celestial. (This character has orange glow, btw, so the glow is not causing this.)

So that means that if i want a all celestial worn out sylvari i have to make my sylvari white skin coloured? wow.. i think that is something Anet needs to patch. I do believe that there is many others having this problem. I spoke to my friend, and he said the exact same as you. Thank you so much for your help!

In the sylvari back story, they are able to modifying their bodies at will. If they didn’t like something growing on them they could just remove it. I figured that the armor was an extension of the sylvari’s body which justified the colors. But yes, I can understand why one would want to change that.

Thanks for information about it being skin color rather than glow. I have heard both, now.

Still, it’s from Sylvari coloring, either way.
