Q:

Why do players hate Twilight Arbor?

I don’t know about you guys, but Areanet needs to do something about Twilight Arbor. The dungeon is fine as far as I am concerned, but a few alterations would make it to where players frequent it more often.

1) The dungeon has VERY few way points. This means that if you die, your team will have to survive somehow and revive you, OR respawn at the way point near the entrance. Even the Citadel of Flame has more way points, making it fun without taking away the challenge. Twilight Arbor’s number of way points makes it so difficult in a way that most players refuse to go inside.

2) This point ties into the first. The rewards at the end of the dungeon runs are so pitiful that they are not worth the player’s trouble. At the very least, if the way points were not such a big problem, more people would play in this location. True, you get the tokens associated with the dungeon, but that isn’t even worth it to most players.

I, as a player, really want the armor from that dungeon and that was how I learned that so many players HATE Twilight Arbor. Similarly, players hate the Norn and the Asura related dungeons. I have yet to enter those, because so few will do so!

Nobody actually wants to go through these dungeons. It would be very different if minor alterations like 2 or 3 more way points were considered in order to appeal to players who enjoy this game.

Just a thought.

Also, if anybody can find a way to tell Areanet to look into this, I would be very relieved.

1) It does have very few(generally 1 …) waypoints and it is annoying but that is already getting addressed by the devs.

2) It’s the same reward as every other dungeon. Overall TA isn’t anymore difficult than any other dungeon. The difficulty I am referring to here is when it is done “normally” meaning no skipping which is probably what the designer intended. If you are going to skip things then TA is definitely going to more difficult than others and mistakes are more punishing. It is also more annoying than most other dungeon and contains one of the most uninteresting final boss fights.

You are also forgetting the other factors.
CoF, HotW, CoE, Arah tokens can be used to buy lv70+ rares which means they can be salvaged into ectos. With ectos at around 30s and 60+ tokens per daily you can potentially double to quadruple your returns.

Then there are the stats. From TA you can get Magi, Rabid and Rampager. Magi would be easier to get from AC and Rampager can be obtained from AC, CM, CoF, CoE as well as being crafted.
That leaves Rabid and TA is probably the best option for that.

There is also the exotic trinket recipes but the drop rate is low and the stats are overshadowed by the ascended equivalent.

The skin is the only thing that requires TA to get.

It is less about hate and more about path of least resistance and best return on time investment.
