Ugly woolen items exchange vendor gone
Bump. This is bugging a lot of people.
I would like the vendor back too however, you do know you can sell them in the trading post… Something to think about as Wintersday comes back next year.
It takes away from the event and holiday to be able to receive Wintersday gifts over a month past.

No. As with ANY event in the past, it is simply a cooling down period to be able to hand in the excess tokens people have acquired during the event. As this event lasted for quite a while, this is not simply a luxury, it’s a necessity. Additionally, people count on a gaming company to consistently apply its policies across events. I did, anyway, and I’m pretty sure thousands of other people did. Lastly, there was no warning whatsoever, as has ALWAYS been the case, that the exchange vendor would leave.
I don’t know. They gave us six weeks to get rid of them, I’m sure that’s as much time as last year, if not more. They ‘warned’ us the new patch was coming on the 21st of January weeks and weeks ago. I certainly wasn’t surprised that the vendor is gone, and I have leftovers. I’m not sure what you were saving 30,000 items up for, in the first place. Market flipping? If you didn’t buy them, you certainly played the heck out of Wintersday! Lol.
As for ‘ALWAYS’ warning us, there has only been one other Wintersday. And if you mean a particular ‘warning’ about every vendor leaving, I am pretty sure that’s not true.
Regardless, I’m not sure why this is in the Bug sub-forum.

Well, WvW still drops gifts. So at least THAT is probably a bug, if the vendors to make use of the ugly clothes are already gone…

While Sonder still trades candy corn for cobs, he stopped trading skulls, fangs and nougat to their rare version when halloween was over.

Which was announced well in advance thank you very much.
While I wouldn’t mind Sonders be updated to trade Gifts etc. for Ugly items, I’m still astounded at the thought of keeping 30,000 of them in your bank. O.o

To be fair, you can still get candy corn.
Well, thanks for this thread as I was wondering what to do with those items and now I see they are useless. I don’t have a huge amount (around 90 to 100 of each), but I was saving them to the most I could so I would grab more until the last min.
I was expecting the vendor would be available for a while too. Now I have enough items to get a Giant Wintersady Gift or even that Snowflake but I’m unable to get it now. Also, even though they announced a release for 21st, what if you got some of these items the day before? Simply discard them? If there’s no vendor for trading them, what’s the use for selling/buying them from TP? Saving them to “who knows if there would be” next Wintersday?
Not fair taking off the vendor all suddenly. I remember I could still even trade those scraps from Baazar of Four Winds and “Election” even days after a new content came out.

I was also expecting the gift exchange vendors to stick around for a couple of weeks like last year. I saved all my “unwanted gifts” throughout the season to trade them all in at once at the end, as it’s tedious to trade just a few at a time, and now I’ve got many stacks of them in stash. Hopefully you can bring them back for a couple weeks, or add a tab to Sonder.
I also have holiday sweaters, etc that I need to exchange. Since I didn’t understand or participate much last year, as I was new to this game format and game itself, I see it only fair to have a vendor available as gifts are still for sale in the tp and dropping in wvw.
Thanks.
