I’m not sure if this is a bug or for some reason (unknown to me) we’re just not allowed to guest from NA server to a Euro server.

I’m a European player who is currently on the Northern Shiverpeaks (NA) and I’d like to do a bit of guesting back somewhere with more people online in my timezone but I’m unable to do this.

Is this right? Are there any answers to the reasoning behind it? Will it be fixed?
I’d love if one of the Anet staff could answer this.

(My account is from Beta and I initially joined a NA server, I haven’t used any of my guesting rights within 24hours and am able to guest within the other NA servers)

this isn’t a bug, its working as intended. you can’t guest from an NA server to an EU server, or vice versa.

reasoning behind it is because the data servers are different, or something like that.

But what this difference since I can permanently transfer to it?

where guesting may be seen as a temporary transfer, it isn’t, it’s more complicated than that.

here is a quote from ANet about guesting that explains some about this restriction.
“Because (different from a world transfer) we are not moving your character between data centers, you may only guest on worlds in the same region as your home world. Players on North American home worlds cannot guest on European worlds or vice versa.”
