Unable to Initialize 3D after Latest Patch
Scratch all that, I guess. I restarted my computer and everything is right as rain. I’d still be interested to know why such a thing happened in the first place, but I’m happy just seeing that my game is running again.
FWIW I’m having the same problem. Restarting the computer doesn’t help. Reinstalling GW2 now.
If anyone figures out a solution to this, I’m also having the same issue. All of my drivers are fully updated, and my game started spontaneously popping that error around the same time as OP. So far the only fix I’ve found is restarting my computer, but that only works for an hour or so before the graphics driver crashes, I have to force stop GW2, and when I try to relaunch it, I get the “unable to initialize 3D output” error again, and have to restart.
Specs:
Windows 10
Intel Core i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz
Intel HD Graphics 4600
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M
Any solutions would be appreciated!
Thats not a GW2 problem but a problem mostly with your graphics drivers or
your Direct-X.
Most times it helps to uninstall drivers, reboot, reinstall drivers. Sometines you
even need driver cleaner programms, or reinstall Direct-X. Or sometimes you
even need to install older driver versions.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
