Guild Wars 2

Yup! Something wrong with this update. Can log in but after selecting a character, the map won’t load. Also the wiki and forum’s are dead slow to load. I imagine the servers for these use the same network connections as the game servers, so everyone trying to reconnect slows them up.

Can sometimes load a character into a map, but cant then move to another map. Unfortunately all my characters are in towns or i’d load one that could at least do something :\

Been like this since right after the update guess they need to fix something again and noticed the website is like a snail as well and loading extremely slow as well. Hope they fix this soon.

No, it just gets like this when the forums are experiencing exceptionally high volume. For example: when a bug breaks the entire game.

Loading screen boss is now the hardest boss in the game

well i got in again on my min who was in tangled depth at the time but it loged me in at auric basin instead i thought i would see if i could get back to exploreing tangled depths and when i tried ot zone in it dodnt work QQ
guess if you keep trying yul get in eventualy tho id be carefull zoneing around the map

I can get onto an LA alt and a DR alt, but I’m trying to load Rata Sum on my new Reaper so I can buy her the right gear and it won’t work. I did get her to Rata Sum but swapped to another alt to check the stats I wanted, now I can’t get back on her.

I thought so too, but no luck. I was able to log in an alt, thinking the problem was fixed I switched to my main and now I can’t log in with any of them again.

Can we please get this fixed or at least acknowledge that there’s a problem and that someone is working on it?

Same issue here. I have tried to log all my characters in over the past 45 mins, but I get the same network error.
The forum is very slow as well.

Having same problem. That’s why guildies are so small today. I thought people are not interesting in HoT any more, before I changed my map.

I’m unable to enter a map with any character. I get the loading screen (such as the LA Halloween image), and it just sits there until it eventually comes up with an error message such as this:

Network error.
Please check your internet connection and try again.
(Code=1083:5:7:1595:101)

I’ve tried from 2 different computers and I’m seeing the same problem. Given that I can reach all other internet sites I’ve tried, including posting here on the forums, and I can get in as far as the loading screen, it’s a pretty safe bet that the problem is NOT my internet connection.

Whenever this newest problem gets fixed, it would be nice if ANet would also consider revising the error messages to be more accurate and meaningful. Many of the messages seem to inaccurately try to point the blame at the user’s internet connection, when in fact the problem lies somewhere else, such as the login servers, etc.

Update! I finally was able to get in after a good while of trying…but then I tried to change maps. The game attempted to load the new map for five minutes and then told me,

The game client lost its connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again. (Code 7:0:0:990:101).

I have actually been getting that exact error since a week before the launch of HOT off and on. Only, it has never done it after taking 5 minutes to try to load a map before.

+1 same issue. Can’t play.

i just did a -repair install, and can now log into characters…. but Sign Cutting (chapter 14 HoT story) now requires Itzel Poison Mastery for me to continue… i thought that requirement was removed in an update earlier this week…

been getting 1083:5:7:1595:101 everytime I try to load into a character after loading the new patch

the server is still down u can tell just by trying refresh or clicking on any of the links on the forum or on the gw2 wiki, it takes awhile for it to load

And the forums are probably slow because of everyone flooding to them to see what’s wrong.

Same thing as OP, same problem with some guildmates.

It’s likely an account issue, as two of my guildmates live together, and one is online with no problems and the other cannot log in like the rest of us.

I’m unable to connect to a character as well. It loads the map for several minutes then tells me “Unable to connect to the game.” I’m given the error code =1084:5:7:1595:101.

Forums are very slow for me.
I can log in and get to the hearts of the mist, que for a game.
As soon as I join a game I get the map loading screen until the client
times out.

+1 same issue. been able to log in a couple of times, but cannot map travel. it says check your network. sometimes I can’t even get into game from character screen.

My character in LA was able to log in fine . . . at first. Attempted to jump to Brisban Wildlands and the map load screen times out with error 1083:5:7:1595:101 .
My wife was having a frustrating time trying to load into Auric Basin and subsequently Verdant Brink.

I have since been able to map about, the overnight process seems to have resolved my most pressing issue with Guild Wars 2.

Add me to the list. Keep getting ‘Network Error’ or connection warning messages. Tried with multiple characters.

Tried to log into another MMO and using Chrome. Worked just fine.

Same:

Logging in is fine.
Selecting a character and clicking Play usually results in a disconnect;
Changing zones usually results in a disconnect.

My suspicion is that Mordremoth is no longer interested in ley-lines, and is now attacking the Internet directly.

Putting in a Mac voice— and I can’t even get a character to load. Will be on the loading screen for several seconds then crashes and gives me Network Error

Same here. started happening after the update. Haven’t been able to play from 2 different computers, and 2 different accounts. Same thing reported by everyone, I get to character selection screen but when I try to login with any of my characters, I get stuck for like 5 mins in the map loading screen until i get a network error.

Same issues and same error codes. Multiple reboots, its definitely on their end. Was able to download and patch a different game about 10 minutes ago with no issues.

I took a whole week’s leave to play the expansion. I can’t log in with any of my 8 characters due to this network error bug. Obviously very miffed at this.

sigh… trying to get in since the Karka kill 1 hour ago. Sucks. Even the Forum is lagging really bad.

Neither my husband nor I can load either. Even the forums are crawling. DDoS, anyone? Why would anyone sabotage a game? How big of an kitten can someone be? WHY??? What does it serve? Why can’t they have fun playing the game instead of ruining it for everyone? Sadistic kittens.

Since the patch, I have the same Network error. It doesn’t matter which character or what location the character is in.
