I have the mastery point bug and my game crashes whenever i do something noteworthy

Sancubus.

First the exp bar was bugged, then I re joined the instance and now the mastery page is bugged.. 4billion required etc.

And le crashes.

Bought HoT with Winter Patch, Glider Basics stuck on 0 with 2 masteries, no story mode progression and all other HoT masteries locked even though I opened Auric Basin map. Wife’s account is ok, but she already had HoT and masteries unlocked.

Same problem. I actually bought the game for 2 accounts on Oct. 23rd, but didn’t use the 2nd acct in HoT until yesterday, right after the big quarterly patch. I went thru story in Silverwastes into Verdant and the game crashed (screen froze) every time I got an event reward and hovered cursor near the reward. So I don’t think it has to do with having bought the game yesterday, as someone said, since I bought it months ago. I switched computers to see if that helped. It didn’t.

So I followed some advice and downloaded the 64 bit client ‘beta’, and the game didn’t crash on the last event reward. But still I can’t progress with gliding mastery: stuck. And I can’t change masteries or progress with anything, except mapping. So there really isn’t any point in continuing to play.

had also the problems with game freezing at every gold reward. startet after adding heart of thorns to my account. system: win 8.1 pro, 16gb ram, amd r380

SHACHAL TSAYID : Devona’s Rest

Just opened the story line for Thorns yesterday and am having the same issue for Shachal Tsayid on Devona’s Rest presently in the Verdant Brink.

She has 1 point to spend. Her exp bar is FULL. Her glider mastery bar is FULL. But there is NO check mark to the left of the Glider bar in the Mastery Panel, and it shows 0 needed to complete the Glider Basics mastery task – NO button or option is inter-actable.

Have not tried running another alt through the intro for Thorns but will try that next.

I would like to add that while I pre-purchased Thorns, and had been playing just fine (other than knowing about the Masteries Hero Panel and not knowing to use it). I did not open the Thorns story-line until day before yesterday on any character – and that was to specifically to gain Gliding after the patch.

AFTER the patch, on character Shachal Tsayid , I opened the Thorns story-line, and then progressed through the Silverwastes intro.

Like others have reported, after finishing Torn from the Sky, the game began crashing instantly EACH time an event completed. I can provide the exact date and time of each crash if needed (seven total before I gave up).

Nor could I figure out how to complete Gliding on the Mastery panel until I found this bug report. So was WAY past a full exp bar before then. I am pretty sure I had THREE mastery points on Thorns at that stage, but now I only show one on the panel. Frankly, I am not sure what I did click or did not click trying to complete the Basic Gliding achievement on the Hero panel, having no idea it was even there or that I had to use it.

The character can not even advance past the first map on Verdant Brink and therefore the game is NOT PLAYABLE. Nor can she Glide. Nor can any other character Glide. I certainly have not tried to open Thorns on any other character. I did submit a Bug report last night as others also have done.

Please FIX This, or at least give us all some FeedBack as we ask yesterday.

I have the same issue with the Glider Basics Mastery. Also with the message ""need 0 mastery points to master this ability".

Recently purchased HoT after being F2P for a while. Leveled my character to 80, then went in and leveled up the Gliding Mastery all the way. It says I have 0 points remaining to level it up, and the bar is maxed out. I still have no point to click on because it is still greyed out. Attaching screenshot.

Got HoT today and instantly faced the same problem, basic gliding is fully leveled but i can’t spend any mastery points IGN: Urusai Baka

I have the exact same problem! Very annoying after playing through tens of crashes just to earn the XP!

For some odd reason I cannot unlock the gliding mastery even though I have completed the story line quest, have my exp bar full, and have a mastery point am I missing something?

Seriously, give me some feedback or refund me and drop me back to a free account. This is ridiculous. Not so much as a, “whoopsie, we dun goofed” in two days? Your QA should be sacked.

Totally agree !!!! I have spent a fortune (to me) in the store etc lately on GW2, and am totally PO’ed about not being able to advance in Thorns when I am ready to. ESPECIALLY since I only opened up the story line for Gliding.

Ahh i see thank you for pointing that forum post out that is exactly whats going on.

You should be able to switch to a different mastery line (not gliding) and continue to gain useable exp for that line, even if you can’t glide, while getting that bug fixed.

I am having the same issue with the 1st Glider Mastery. I am most certainly disappointed. Everyone around me is Gliding and I am stuck with the “This mastery requires 0 points” message. Then every time I accomplish anything, the game crashes just like with Windows users. Ohh…I’m also playing on Mac…still…I get sad to see everyone glide except me.

I’m experiencing the same issues as other mentioned in this post. I purchased the expansion yesterday on 1-27-2016. I’ve experienced application crashes when I complete events or discover new waypoints within the expansion map. The application runs fine within the core map. My character’s Heart of Maguuma Gliding basics mastery points are stuck at 4.2 billion points when I am mapped in the Heart of Thornes expansion; however, when I map to Lions arch the mastery points change from 4.2 billion to 70k. I’ve attached the two instances below.

To clarify : the 71k in your second screen is the amount of experience you’ve got towards the 1st tier of Pact Commander in the Central Tyria mastery part.
