I see this has been an issue in the past, but I’m having it right now.

I keep a spare slot in my account for throwaway characters, always named “We Can Rebuild Him,” and tonight I can’t delete the charr necromancer I have in that slot at the moment. I’d really like that slot back, if possible. Thanks.

do you have a character in a beta slot? if you do, delete the character in the beta slot, then try deleting the one you want to delete.

Nope, my beta slot is empty. Already checked.

Im stuck with the same issue, except its only affecting one character.

Had a bunch of old ones and decided to clean it up abit, all of them except one deleted just fine :S

Can we please get an update on this? I mean I bought that character slot, I’d like to use it…. I dont understand why 1 character of the 5 i wanted to delete isnt deletable :S

Same problem here.
I sent a ticket yesterday and they told me this:
“The Guild Wars 2 Development Team is aware of this issue and team members currently are working on addressing it.”
Maybe it will be fixed in a few days..

Been having the same problem. One of my characters got deleted just fine, but another one just won’t budge.

So its been 3 days, without a single word.

I still have a character slot that I payed for and cannot use because the character in it I have no interest in playing.

It’s only this one character, I’ve been able to delete and remake others, but this one slot wont budge.

Log into the character and make sure they have nothing equipped, and have a completely empty inventory.

It technically shouldn’t have anything to do with your issue, but you never know.

Yeah no, that just made him very naked, didnt change anything.

Running in to the same issue, unable to delete character.

Has three special characters. I did see an old thread where they had talked about having one special character, and I have deleted characters with one in the name.

Any help would be great.

Have any of you tried typing in the word “delete” by chance? I know it’s supposed to be the character name, but worth trying?

I’m still not able to delete the character “We Can Rebuild Him.”

I sent in a support ticket, ANet said the problem was fixed and to try deleting it. Well, the deletion failed, and I was told to keep trying it and if I still couldn’t delete it by Monday to update my support ticket again with the relevant information.

There’s seven hours left until the clock ticks over to Monday in my timezone. So far, I still can’t delete “We Can Rebuild Him.”

I’ve been having this problem too. I’ve only tried to delete one character, so I don’t know if it’s just the one or if I’ll be unable to delete all my characters.

They’re periodically working to correct characters who suffer from this issue in a period of approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Please attempt to delete your character at least once every week to see if your issue has been corrected.

If you have not been able to delete your character after 3 weeks, please contact us again so we can continue our assistance.

I have looked at your ticket and it is known bug issue. I apologize for this inconvenience. They correct this issue every two to three weeks by dumping deleted characters that would normally have been deleted by you. We are currently looking into it

So they are aware of the issue and it will probably be fixed come next patch. Quite possibly tomorrow.

Nope, still no luck. It’s getting a bit ridiculous after 3 weeks. :S

Was finally able to delete the character. Thank you!
