Guild Wars 2

When attempting to purchase gems using a credit card, I go through the entire process up to confirming the purchase. After clicking confirm, I get a “card approval failed” message almost immediately.

I have used this card on other websites, even to purchase THIS game, without issue. I have also contacted my bank to make sure it wasn’t something on their end, and they don’t even have any charge attempts showing on my account. I have tried two other cards with the same result.

Attempting to purchase through paypal results in going through the entire purchase process up to confirming the order; I then get forwarded to the GW2 website, where I get a message stating “An error has occurred” and giving me an option to try again. Clicking on Try Again instantly forwards me to the URL to purchase the game itself.

This issue has gone on since the beginning of head start, and two of my housemates are in the same boat. No response from support. Not only is this an extreme annoyance, since the amount of starting bank space is ridiculous; I can’t believe it hasn’t even been ADDRESSED, since this is directly cutting into the developer’s profit margin.

I have the same problem. I simply needed gems to buy more bag space, but ended up selling everything I had to get coin to buy the gems to buy the 1 inventory expansion. A few hours of grinding to save $10 USD…

I was basically working like a slave a below minimum wage…. I prefer to use cash to buy some things like this and use my time to enjoy the other parts of the game

I’ve got the SAME issue – Opened up a ticket over a week ago and haven’t had a resolution yet. Disappointing!

Same situation here. During head start, purchased fine, now can’t purchase any with any card or paypal. Cards work fine other places, have plenty of credit available, just constantly getting transaction failed.

Support ticket since 8/29. No reply. Was able to purchase gems on Saturday and Sunday of the headstart, but not since Monday 8/29.

And did any of you received them? because I’m still waiting for my gems

When i was able to purchase them, i got them instantly, but that was during head start (so glad i bought the bag space when i did).

Yah I was able to do it over the weekend, bought 4 bank updates and 3 character bag slots.
BUT yah i haven’t been able to do it since Monday. I guessing they don’t want my money. Opened a support ticket but sure that won’t go anywhere.

I just got a response from support. I filled out the info they asked for and then tried both credit and paypal. Credit still fails for me, but PayPal just worked 3 times in a row for the first time since this game went live. So they are answering these support issues and I would ask for the people above to try PayPal again. I had tried both earlier today and neither worked, so either they fixed my specific account or might of fixed an issue between them and PayPal.

I am also unable to purchase any gems. I really need to upgrade my bank slots this is pretty silly.

When it does open up for me .. im buying Million of gems i tell ya .. MILLIONS ! Then I never have to worry about buying gems again.

Just tried paypal, still failing. When i clicked the “try again” button, it sent me to the store for the digital edition. huh?

Same problem here, only with the added frustration of having outstanding charges for gems I’ve already paid for, yet haven’t received.
