Friend of mine reported that he (and his friend as well) are not able to sign up for GW2, as they wanted to try out the PoF demo weekend. I tried this as well and same happens for me.

It says that some fields are invalid, no matter what you put in them.

Could you please have a look? I imagine this is a wider issue, but the affected people are unable to report (having no account and all).

As in creating a Play4Free account, or as in purchasing Heart of Thorns and/or Path of Fire and then creating an account?

It may be helpful if you state which particular fields are giving problems.

I agree. The pop up does not specify though. It says “Some fields are invalid; please fix them.”

No little red stars or red outlines on the fields?

I’ve never made a Play4Free account, so I’m unfamiliar with what it may, or may not, show.

same problem here, between different browsers, different email/password/username combos, doesn’t actually highlight which field is wrong.

Seeing as this is confirmed by more people, it would be great if we could get a response from ArenaNet.

Friend reported same problem. The Submit produces following errors:
Tested in Chrome, Edge and IE11
POST https://account.arena.net/register?alt=gw2 400 (Bad Request)
register?alt=gw2:1
Refused to execute script from ‘https://account.staticwars.com/gen/rollup.15332777.js’ because its MIME type (‘text/html’) is not executable, and strict MIME type checking is enabled.

it seems the ?alt=gw2 that the site adds when you click to register from the login is causing an issue for some.

nottsgman’s suggestion worked. had found that link before but assumed the serial code for a retail copy would be needed. if you don’t put anything in it creates a free account by default. thanks!
