So, yeah, the game won’t launch. Redownloading the client doesn’t fix it, and only gets flagged by AVG as ‘Win32/Heur’.

This is the 32bit client, btw.

So i cannot patch with the new update, i was playing just fine until last night. any solution? or the game no longer support win xp?

I’ve read about someone using Windows Vista 32bit with the same problem, so it seems a little more wide spread.

Allright that is good to hear that it was not just me who have the problem, i hope they can fix it soon ty.

I got mine fixed. I run the game on 2 PC’s – so I took the GW2.exe from another PC after the update and put it on my other PC now the game is updating fine.

Yep, having the exact same problem and OP and other.

A lot of us have it…no second PC to try the one fix with, and I’m reluctant to start renaming things until I’m sure that’s the only fix. So I’ll wait.

Same. Even tried reinstalling and it wont even allow that lol. shame, really was having fun in WvW too.

Edit: yeah as below poster says, mine stops exactly at that point too.

Same here. I have Vista 64 bit, and each time I try to re-download the client, (I’ve tried multiple times) it stops at exactly 10127Kb.

Me too. I tried on two PCs, one doesn´t even start to patch and the other one hands me the error message after some time of download sits down to wait

Hmmm, seems to may be a Vista thing? I’m running the 32bit client on Vista 64 as well.

Same issue here.

Currently; tried logging in 10 times. Firewall note (always the same IP too):

GW2.EXE 64.25.47.110: 6112 *Allow Outbound TCP to 6112 for GW2.EXE 287Bytes sent 0Bytes Received

Tried a backup of the GW2.exe… no joy.

NCSoft’s end, I’d say. No doubt it’ll be fixed shortly.

Seems to continue patching after renaming the Gw2.tmp to Gw2.exe in the installation folder.

It is a 32bit client issue, but most users were able to move to the 64bit client some time ago, so apparently 32bit users are such a minority that they don’t warrant even a comment? The 32bit issue in the reddit spring update bug thread is even getting downvoted.

having the problem with 64bit version as well. Tried them both on Vista and still not working. getting the verification error.

So many people are trying to patch and download at once that it is causing these downloadable files to either not download at all or download incomplete. …but it’s causing a verification error? That’s a new one on me…

I just tried 64 bit (before downloaded the 32 bit) It’s still an issue and 64 bit stops at 11435Kb

That “quick reply” does not match the verification issue.

I had the exact same thought as well.

When I wrote the ticket I even included a link to this thread as well so I guess that their final word on the issue. However, since I am cursed when it comes to getting good support help- I highly recommend sending your own tickets and seeing if you get better results. Good luck-you’re going to need it.

The Mac fix… renaming gw2.exe to gw2old.exe and renaming gw2.tmp to gw2.exe might be working.

Edit: Yes, that has allowed me to update and enter the game again.

Seems strange we’re getting replies about scribing but a major tech issue is getting seemingly ignored. It’s been 4+ hours now with no official response to the many threads about the same issue. /shrug.

Some of us having trouble even with 64bit. Still waiting for some fix.

Workable solution! Buddy sent me link to his GW2.exe file via skype. After I deleted all prior GW2 files. Launcher is now reloading game.

I’d advise not trying any of these other fixes until we see if this helps, whenever the new build goes live. Not to take away from the good intentions of those posting the advice, but uninstalling/reinstalling and renaming things might cause even more problems in the long run. Just my humble opinion.

Hi everyone, i read a reddit post saying go into your GW2 Folder, rename the gw2.tmp to gw2.exe, but before that, because there’s already a gw2.exe files in that folder, you also need to rename it to oldgw2 or something else. it works for me. good luck to you who have same problem

Now works but I needed to reassign permissions in my 360 Total Security Antivirus for both files GW2.exe and GW2.tmp because both were flagged and quarantined as heuristic trojans.

So if anybody still has problems check your antiviruses and file permissions.
