Unplayable lag in Sparkfly Fen
Most of the time maps will reach max player limt and “hard cap” for teq if you are in a good map. This happens regardless of whether or not he is the daily. So it really has nothing to do with the daily. However it’s hard to pin down what your issue is. It could be your graphic settings, computer overheating, low mbps, or several other issues. If it is server side you should ask the rest of the map if they are also having the issue. If so then post the shards IP address as most likely a server is going bad. This is found by typing /ip In game.
Yeah I also have had issues today at Teq, although I didn’t miss the reward as I could do part of it. However, just a few minutes after it started I began to get a hard lag spike. Skills got unresponsive, my char wouldn’t move and keep rubberbanding and I couldn’t interact with anything like reviving players or grabbing stuff. I could say it was something at my end (and I believe it had something to do yes) but what puzzles me is it got fine when I WPed out but to the same map. So soon I moved away the lag lessened. But then I crashed and when I came back I was put into another instance, that instance was also fine but so soon I joined back the same map and the event, lag hit me hard that I was forced to move away and sit down waiting the event to end :S It has happened twice this weekend. Too bad I forgot to get the server IP.
If it is a server issue everyone on the map will also have the same problem, which is why asking in map chat is good because you can find out if it’s just on your end. Although from what you’re describing shadow that is what I experience when I have internet issues (around 6-10pm my internet is terrible because the only internet provider I can get sucks and it takes them forever to run more fiber to our area). When I am near the Zerg I lag out especially in world Boss events and this unfortunately leads to a DC. If you experience this your best bet is to hit him a bit and go defend turrets since there’s less people.
It also makes sense that when you crashed you didn’t experience lag on the map you zoned into because that map would not have been soft capped. Meaning you got placed in there without having to join on a player who was already in the map. However the map you were in previous to your crash was most likely over the soft cap (otherwise there’s not much of a chance to win anyway) and possibly nearly hard capped meaning more people in the map and a larger Zerg.

Yes, that was what I did. After recovering from crash and going back to the map I give it a few hits as I could and then I stepped back and sat down out of event range. Helping with turrets didn’t work too as I was rubberbanding exactly near them. I got credit but not so much as I expected.
Also yes, I’m aware it’s something at my end as I have had connection issues recently. But what puzzles me is why does it happens only in the crowded areas while it doesn’t happen at calm areas in the exact same map at the exact time the zerg/event is happening. Maybe I just don’t get how server mechanics works then. Maybe my connection just can handle too many update requests at once, even though I had set things to lowest then not may updates required… I dunno…
Lag is way worse since mid Jan.
