I am wondering why Arenanet has not put a first person camera into the game yet. Is it really hard to make our characters vanish from our own screen if we zoom all the way in? I don’t understand it. And besides that, I also don’t like how the combat of the game feels. After 4 months of release, I just got 2 lvl 30 characters, becuase I don’t feel comfortable playing Guild Wars 2 like I do when I play League of Legends, StarCraft 2 or World of Warcraft. Those 3 games are very responsive. Guild Wars 2 feels kinda “random” to me. It feels like you just have to button bash and hope something will happen. I also have the feeling that Charr animations are not as responsive as Human and Asira animations.
I think the unresponsive combat of Guild Wars 2 is a huge problem. Guild Wars 2 could easily get to the nr1 spot if the game would have had a responsive combat system and if sPvP would have had a ranking system and such. I really like ArenaNet, it’s one of my most favrourite game companies and I really like Guild Wars 2. I have never waited for a game to come out for so long. But it was a dissapointment for me to see how “bad” the sPvP is and how unresponsive and “glidy” the combat of Guild Wars 2 is.
I don’t hear a lot of complains about it, actually. But just compare the combat system of GW2 to other games, and you will understand what I mean. I think GW2 can not become a big e-sports game with this kind of combat system.
I am still waiting for ArenaNet to come with patch notes that they have polished the animations, the cast bar, the general “fading” of windows (because that also counts as responsive, if something fades out and in its less responsive than something which just appears instantly) and a good ranking system of sPvP which simulates the PvP community to play even more GW2. Just look at StarCraft 2 Hearth of the Swarms Battle.net 2.0 That is almost perfect. It is really amazing. Guild Wars 2 definitally needs something like that.
