Guild Wars 2

I can’t cooperatively participate in parties this evening! I don’t understand what is going wrong here.

It started in WvWvW this evening, where I partied with a guild member. We were in the water and I was following him around killing under water monsters. I fight a defender on from another server and go back to him in the water…

But instead of using a trident underwater, he’s using SWORDS underwater and attacking monsters and getting killed. I look at him for about 5 solid minutes, wondering if he’s botting or using a hack, but then he teleported away. Convinced he was using a hack, I open my map to see where he teleported to.

His character was at a PvP fight vs tons of other characters the whole time, and he tells me he’s killed dozens of people. He was on the other side of the map, the whole time. He wasn’t hacking, it was just my computer being out of sync… WTF?

ANOTHER SCENARIO:

Tonight I want to play with my Girlfriend. We made new characters and start to play, but… She’s 20-something yards away from me at all times. On her screen, I’m right next to her. BUT ON MY SCREEN, she’s incredibly far away.

Sooo, I’ve relogged, restarted, dropped Party and Reinvited, but nothing seems to fix the situation permanently. Relogging is only a temporary fix. I don’t know what to do.

I want to play with my Gf, but I Can’t if this continues. I play on a laptop and she plays on a Desktop right next to me and we have not experienced this kind of issue in the past.

Can someone help? Any suggestions? Maybe someone else has experienced something like this in Guild Wars 2?

Try using an ethernet connection instead of wifi… especially if your GF is using ethernet and you’re using wifi.

That’s exactly how it’s set up. I’m on Wifi, she’s on Ethernet. Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll give that a try tomorrow morning when I can get a new cable!
