Here is proof of the bug affecting the Steal ability after the most recent patch.

Apparently, every time you try using Steal while channelling a Heartseeker (reports says that it even affects skills like Flanking Strike+Steal), the Steal ability will fail, going on Full CD and without giving any of the benefits (outside of Thrill of the Crime) that it should give.
The reason “Out of Range”. Funny thing is that, when the opponent is ACTUALLY “Out of Range”, the Steal ability should go to kitten CD without even teleporting to your target. This is clearly not the case.

Up! This issue needs addressing, it’s completely game breaking for all thieves!

anet please fix this bug. there are still some ppl playing thief despite all you efforts…

Seems like Anet doesn’t share your opinion.

Sounds like they fixed a bug. Steal has 2 parts- the teleport (which activates on-steal traits) and the bundled skill acquisition, which requires a target in range. If your target is too far away you’ll still port but not get the stolen skill. I don’t see a problem with this.

the problem is that time to time steal does not work at all. you just get CD and nothing else.

From looking at the video i see steal hits 100% more compared to Rush or bulls charge :-P

It thinks its all about the kitten sync problems these days.. 1-2 sec laggs..
(after that steal will work again and bulls/rush aint because they are intended like that from day 1.. anet already fixed rush 2 times.. they will never ever burn there hands again on this skill and just pretend it issnt in the game)
