There are a list of spells and abilities that do not often show their respected effects or particle effects, which creates a lot of confusion in a very tight combat situation as you are not given feedback if the ability/spell has triggered. Often leading into ghost spells being cast that you did not see or abilities going on cool down simply because you had to re-check if you had pressed the button while the spell/ability is already active for only a few seconds.
Next is a video showcasing two spells/abilities that should show effects, but fail to do so both in combat and non-combat situations. The visual effects are not applied to allies nor the player correctly, even though the boons are applied or the spell has triggered AND is doing damage.

I use both of those spells and the effects work fine for me. What video card and drivers are you using? System specs help in situations like this.

GTX 560 Ti Overclocked and driver version is 304.79
Are you sure they work perfectly 100% of the time? Try testing it around people who are fighting, that seems to bug those effects more consistently than sitting idle somewhere. If this is a client side issue, how could I fix it? It really bothers me in combat. :S
EDIT: updated to the latest beta drivers, didn’t solve the issue

I think it’s some sort of “throttling” system ingame for when to much is going on (don’t quote me on this, just a guess) or just a general game error.
I’ve had it happen a number of time on my elemental with with various spells, fire sheild (no fire ring around me), earth sheild (no little stones) things like that. However it only ever seems to happen when quite a few other players are around.

I do not have the issue… it could be video card related or driver related. Update to the latest BETA drivers on your NVidia – it helped a ton for GW2 general stability/playability/etc.
