This just started happening to me this week. I tend to play in very long stretches and after about 30-60 minutes now, if I’m underwater the keys wig out. I try to swim straight up but only go horizontal – try to swim down, same thing. I’ve been getting killed since I can’t maneuver properly. If I exit the game and go back in, everything is fine for another 30-60 minutes.
Not sure if this is your issue, but sometimes a directional key will get stuck (as if you are holding it in despite not pressing it). A fix to try would be to PRESS the key that seems stuck. So if you are running forward uncontrollably, tap W and it should stop.
