Guild Wars 2

Ever since the last patch weird squares appeared in WvW. I tried restarting the client, and changing my ingame graphic setting. Nothing on my graphic card was modified and this is only since last patch.

Is anyone else having this?

Have you tried fixing the client yet? This might solve your issue.
Also make sure that your GFX card is running the latest drivers :-)

If that doesn’t work, it probably isn’t something on your end. But alas, try it anyhoo and if it doesn’t work submit a support ticket ^^;

In order to repair the client use these steps:

If you are having problems running Guild Wars 2, the data archive may have become corrupted. Please follow these steps to verify and repair the archive:

Locate your Gw2.exe file.
Right-click on the file and select Create shortcut.
Rename this new shortcut to Guild Wars 2 Repair.
Right-click on Guild Wars 2 Repair and select Properties.
Locate the Target line and add -repair to the end.
Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -repair
Click OK.

Double-clicking Guild Wars 2 Repair will begin the repair process. The game will launch when it is complete.

Note: Keep in mind that the verification and repair process will run each time you double-click the Guild Wars 2 Repair shortcut. If you would like to play the game immediately without repairing the archive, double-click on Gw2.exe or another shortcut without the -repair command.

Same problem here. It turns out I did in fact have 9 files that needed repairing but that didn’t actually have anything to do with the error. Drivers are up to date. It looks to me like bits of the lighting from the Wintersday decorations are still around.

Same issue for me aswell, nothing change on my pc at all just DL patch and went back to WvWvW yesterday and got the same problem as OP screenshot.

Edit, repair game client did nothing

Same here, running nvidia card.

Just went to check in the Borderlands, and I’ve got the exact thing myself aswell. Would’ve checked earlier, but wasn’t in game then. And since I’m usually never in the Borderlands, I didn’t notice it any sooner, haha.

Same here – looks like the lightmap from Wintersday is still being used. Thought it was just a local error until I saw reports here.

I see them too. I use an AMD Radeon 6780 or so.
