OK … I got the letter from Orphan Laine, and it pointed me to my home instance in Divinity’s reach. On entering the instance, I am unable to find Orphan Laine for the beginning of the scavenger hunt. I’ve tried looking in other Home Instances (in Hoelbrak, The Grove) both with and without the proper character, with no better results.

I did find Sous-Chef Seimur Oxbone in the Black Citadel, but there is no option to get the required item; the only item offered is the Plate of Bloodstone Waffles.

I completed this last year, and don’t know if it’s having an impact on reprising it again this time around (if so, why did I get the letter).

Suggestions, anyone?

P.S. On a positive note, I like the new hairstyle selection, and redid my main character’s hair to one that closely matches the same one in GW1 (the ponytail, for those curious).

I don’t think you can do it twice. As for the letter, I imagine it was sent to everyone, regardless.

Letter has always done nothing. It really confused people. You could have never opened your mail and did the whole quest. But yeah can’t do it twice. Everyone gets a letter tho.

I experience the same. Completed the mini quest last year, and this year I DID get the letter, but find no NPCs. Sloppy.

Also, the achievements are listed as completed in the festival section, but aren’t counted towards the meta event.

Turns out I still have ‘For the Children!’ from last year (hadn’t looked at that previously). Guess you can’t ‘double up’. Oh, well.

Last year you also got the letter twice if you were around for the whole wintersday event.
