The extra charge given to the mesmer’s mantras by the trait Harmonious Mantras is undone by using a waypoint that invokes a loading screen in the same zone. Naturally, going to a different zone all together will dump all the mantra charges (just like stacks of bloodlust and such), but this is a waypoint inside the same zone. It only removes the extra charge. By not using the trait, the waypoint has no effect on the mantra charges. After the first charge is lost, the remaining two work like normal and do not get removed by waypoint use.

It gets weirder, though. Using the waypoints inside capitol cities also has no effect on the mantras. It seems to only trigger when using a waypoint that costs coin and invokes a loading screen.

Proposed joke solution: make waypoints free.

This happens when you get re-scaled up/down — grandmaster trait on mesmer breaks for a moment and your third charge goes “poof” :P (also can be re-created in Twilight Arbor — if you have grandmaster trait, equip mantras, then choose Aether-path, it re-scales you, your mantra counts drop to 2)

Ah, I didn’t know it was an old bug (I don’t play mesmer a lot). You’re right though, I know better than to expect them to fix old bugs. There are bugs that still have not been fixed since way before release, so yeah thanks for letting me know it’s an old bug. Moving along
