Weeping Cache
Sometimes, you just have to re-orient the stones in known configurations to get the “lock” to open.
When I did this the other day, the left pattern on the face was incorrect, we checked the wiki and started going through the patterns and it finally unlocked. It’s noted on the wiki that this jp sometimes bugs like that.
But the left side of the face didn’t have a pattern, it was blank
Here is a note from the wiki:
Bug: Projected patterns may be missing or incorrect; ie. matching a pattern might have no effect, but it is still possible to complete the puzzle by guessing the correct pattern.
-The left pattern (when facing the door) must be done before the right pattern.
-The puzzle might be partially complete: check for lit torches before proceeding. Zero or two lit: start with left pattern. One or three: start with right.
-When matching patterns do not light a torch, there are several reported potential fixes:
-Approach the torch that should be lit. This may light it. Circling the room clockwise will put you near each torch in sequence if you can’t see them.
-Removing all tears and then replacing the pattern may trigger a match.
-Filling all panels with tears and then removing tears to recreate the pattern may trigger a match.
-The displayed pattern may be wrong. Guessing the correct pattern will trigger a match.
[end quote]
We actually ended up completing the right pattern first, or someone may have completed the left pattern and the right one might have been wrong… I have to say, I wasn’t paying attention to any torches, but after trying a few patterns, I heard a noise and the gate finally opened.

It’s probably still good to report this, just in case it happens to get noticed and possibly fixed.
Alternatively, some enterprising developer could check the Category:Bugs page on the wiki and save us all a lot of trouble.
