In PvP and WvW half of the players are thieves, cause this is the only class, which can hit while it’s invisible. It’s annoying when invisible player puts flag on you, or in massive fight hits you. Is this a bug? If it is, why you don’t fix it? Or It’s just a game disbalance created by you Arenanet? And if it is, why you don’t fix it? There are many free games better than GW2 now – Aion, Lineage 2, and others. I’m one of these players who believe you will fix and improve GW2, and it will become the game you promised to players. But I start to have doubts…

I’ve seen thieves take down guardians and warriors 1v1to 8v1 in WvW with little damage to themselves cause they keep stealthing and appear to be doing damage from stealthed state. Thieves have become unbalanced in WvW and are favored cause they can hold an area longer than any other player just by using stealth, and skills that allow them to do damage while in stealth.

I play a thief. Anytime I damage an enemy (Unless its caltrops), I become unstealthed for 3 seconds. What damage can I do while in stealth that keeps me stealthed other than caltrops?

Also, a stealthed individual can still be hit. AoE dmg keeps a thief away. I haven’t noticed a bug or a class breaking problem. The only possible advantage is stealthed takedowns.

I was about to say that with my engineer I don’t seem to have any problems hitting thieves when I whip out ole matilda (flamethrower) and start blanketing the area with liquid napalm goodness…..seems to draw em out pretty well

Ha Man you shall write “anytime I damage an enemy, I must become unstealthed for 3 seconds”. But in fact you don’t. And this is a clear bug. You stay in invisible stance 2-3 sec after you made damage – every time. In fact you can put down the enemy and flag him, without going out of invisible stance.

You can also watch out for the particles effects on thieve’s skills to find them easily.
My primary characters are an elementalist and a necromancer but I also made a thief to try it: in PVE it’s really hard to play, if it is “balanced” anymore by weakening this class it becomes barely playable without an help.
He has the same hit point of an elementalist with just a bit more armor but without his long range attacks and without really effective AOE. Killing more than 1 monster becomes every time “an epic battle for your life”. The only problem I see it’s a graphic bug that doesn’t un-stealth the thief instantaneously, giving him an edge in PVP (but it’s not really that hard to spot and counter it)

This is nonsense. Thief is not weak in PvE. And it’s bugged in PvP. And even if he was weak in PvE the most stupid thing would be to make it imba in PvP. You approve it’s bugged, but say it’s not a problem. If there is a bug it shall be fixed. It’s not weakening the class, it’s a fair and balanced game. I really hate such a bugs, not cause they make so big disbalance, but cause many players use them. It’s like to use faked cards and the croupier – Arenanet – to say there is no problem with the cheat.

1st, fix it so thief cant stealth and do the finisher in WvW.
2nd fix it so thief can’t chain stealth skills without a small waiting period … ie 2-3 before he can stealth again.
3rd make it so damage skills(except weapon skills) cause stealth skills to cooldown for the duration of the damage skill.

thief fixed and balanced.

I never said to make it imba in PvP as it would be stupid.

You approve it’s bugged, but say it’s not a problem. If there is a bug it shall be fixed.

Read CAREFULLY what I wrote: I didn’t say “it’s not a problem”.

It’s not weakening the class, it’s fair and balanced game.

Balancing it’s ok. Nerfing because some people got a beat from one is not.
It’s a THIEF:
It has low health and many single target skills. If you remove the damage and shorten the stealth (And I’m talking about the correct stealth duration, not the bug for perma-stealth that should be fixed) it doesn’t have nothing anymore, except for a medium armor.
It will became : medium armor, low health, medium damage, no serious AOE, no survivability…. are you guys serious? Will you be ok with a class with no strong points and only donwsides?

Ofc thief is not weak in PvE. You play with mass DD and expect all classes to kill mobs like elementalist or necro. Try to play with warrior or guardian, they will be even weaker than thief for you. So yes, you are writing nonsense. And you shall not call the bugs – game advantages. They are just bugs and shall be fixed – correct stealth duration is equal to shorten stealth, and no damage dealing in invisible stance.
