I have not seen an ecto in a long time and iam wondering are they not available from salvaging anymore? I salvage everything, with master salvage kit, and i used to get them all the time, but since southsun no more. Perhaps Iam not salvaging the right things, are they only available from exotics, I never paid attention to wt i was salvaging, i just did it cause ive got the wepeons and armor i like allready. anywho let me know if ectos are only from exotics.

However, I had some very bad luck (and some people more that I know) and I stopped salvaging for the time being.

They are only from lv68+ rares and exotics. I’ve been salvaging nearly every rare from the events and while I don’t always get an ectos it’s been fairly consistent. There has been a noticeable decrease in the average. The chance of getting 3 from a salvage seems lower than before that bug with the black lion kit.

I dont think Ive gotten a single one in the past month

ok, thx that helps, I need more rares. I didnt realize how often i salvaged rares, and exotics. lol i probably salvaged a precurser with out even looking.

First off I’m not boasting. I’m just relaying what I’ve witnessed.

I rarely get 0 ectos from rares 70-80. Just seems I’m lucky I guess but it seems to be working normally for me. I salvaged 6 items (armor) yesterday and got 9 ectos from them.

nothing changed , im doing all events that give rares except Jormag because the fight takes too long to complete for one rare and a bunch of Green and Blue item.

so my average is still 16 – 17 days to build a stack of Ectos

All yellow at the min required level gives me in 90 percent of the cases min 1 ecto – salvaging with black lion kit. Most of the time even 2-3.

Have not tried the yellow kit yet but I will try soon… once my black lion kits are used I have a 250 yellow kit made with 3 of these stones I got from dailies.

Might be lower with these kits… but I don’ think it is 0 – you probably only have bad luck.

Black Lion Salvage Kit Pre-Patch: 90% ecto rate from salvaging 80 rares. — Black Lion Salvage Kit Post-Patch: 10% ecto rate from salvaging 80 rares. Sample size: 25+ Something is up.

25+ items is not enough to statistically calculate anything.

It gets old seeing complaint after complaint about ectos being changed, when in reality nothing really does, apart from 1 bug that they promptly fixed, and even gave a free kit as compensation to those that were likely affected.

Also, while price of ectos doesn’t directly reflect whether or not something has been changed on their salvage rate, the price hasn’t increased. It could temporarily if someone freaked and bought a bunch, like happened back with the black lion kit bug, but it quickly corrected it’s price
