Q:

These two abilities look identical, and are both the 5th skill from having an Axe offhand.

The Warrior ability allows you to move.

The Ranger ability cancels if you move.

For a game that has so much movement, strafing to avoid melee, etc, any ability that forces you to stand still is a significant disadvantage.

Not sure if this is working as intended or a bug, but the ability to move while using Whirling Defense should be reconsidered.

The thing is though, whirling defense deflects projectiles, where whirling axe does no such thing. Similar to most shield block abilities, you can’t move while using whirling defense, but you also take no damage. It balances out.

Here’s a real bug with Whirling Defense, though:

Both Whirling Axe and Whirling Defense are labeled as “Whirl” finishers. Whirling Axe, when used in a combo field, triggers a combo (flings projectiles in all directions) for the entire duration of the channel. Whirling Defense, on the other hand, only activates a combo once, and at the very end of the channel. So, although you’re sitting there whirling for 3 seconds, you only fling one projectile in one random direction at the end of the channel.
