Hello,

I would just like to say, i love all the catcher skins! ^^ but i love the windcatcher one the most but i have been having a problem =( i hope these attached screenshots can provide some clarity.

here are two images each with different gear equipped. one with a gs and windcatcher skin and one with shield and windcatcher skin. The windcatcher doesnt appear at all when the shield is equipped.. is this a bug or intenitional? can it be fixed?^^

What happens when you take out your sword and shield (unsheathe them)?

when you take your shield on, it covers your back piece. I dont know why it also covers holographic wings, arent these holographic? Also, animation of windcatcher, shouldnt be visible too?

I think what happens is that the shield replaces the object that should be the backpiece.

yeah thats what happens to me too.. i think the windcatcher should still be visibe even with the shield on your back because the windcatcher is a backpiece and not a replacement for the shield. . .
also yes the windcatcher is visible again when i unsheathe the sword and shield but thats beside the point^^ i run with my equipment sheathed 99% of the time so i want to see the windcatcher animation on my sword/shield set when im not in combat i urge you to fix this Anet.

remove the backpack from the slot and re apply it. had this problem with my quiver to. otherwise try to hide and show it back and forth

I tried that before, it didnt work but i’ll keep trying^^

All back items are ‘removed’ when a shield is stowed on your back. It’s not really a bug. It’s always been that way.

They are also removed when engineer kits are equipped, which is considerably more ‘appearance’ breaking.

Shield using engineers basically never see their back pieces.

It’s something that should be ‘fixed’ somehow, but short of constant clipping issues, feel free to suggest some way the devs could do it without it looking worse.
Entering combat, so that the shield is in your hand, should reveal the back piece. In the options you can keybind a button to draw/sheath your weapons. I use it all the time so I can actually see the shattered wings on my engi.

Okay thanks for the tip, and as for suggestions i suggest the Devs find a way to make the backpiece exsist at the same time as the shield on the back so that they do not touch eachother in any way..

and also no clipping as i saw the windcatcher skin could actually nestle quite well under the sheathed shield on my characters back because theres plenty of space under that shield for a backpiece..

so in this way you could have both backpiece and shield on your back without them interfereing with eachother.

There is already clipping with staff and greatsword, so they might as well just make them visible. Players can always choose to turn off the back item if the clipping bugs them.
