Q:

I have tried this many times, and came to the conclusion that windows 10 is not compatible with Guildwars 2, every time i either close the game or there is a lot of
people doing events the game always freezes or crashes with a graphics crash error
perhaps you guys can figure out issue, since most of your players will move to windows 10 later this year.

Sounds very similar to my PC with W10. I haven’t had this issue (yet)

Lots of ppl are using W10 without issue for GW2. There are however major issues with Nvidia working correctly with W10 and causing havoc in many games, with a couple of recent Nvidia drivers being released broken.

That might not be a graphics card issue at all, I haven’t tried windows 10 on my PC. On the laptop though I get issues with every windows update reverting the display driver to a windows 2005 driver over my Nvidia 2015 drivers.

They have up on the Nvidia website ways to temporarily fix it but it ultimately is a windows problem that they have to address. Maybe this is the issue causing your freezing and crashes.

Plenty of issues with nvidia and windows 10. AMD seems to work better, for now at least.

I have had only one issue with Windows 10, and it is with my graphics card. Nvidia 670mx, and it only happened when I’d try to alt+tab or alt+window out of the game, about half the time it would flicker, and give me a “Displayer Driver stopped responding and has recovered” error. I just downloaded the Win10 Nvidia driver so we’ll see if that problem continues. Otherwise, I have had no issues with the Windows 10 update and being able to play GW2.

I am using a GTX980Ti and have no problems at all with Win10Pro. It runs all the games I’ve thrown at it so far. Currently I only have two “problems” in GW2: the sound crackle upon launching the game and it crashing upon exiting the game. I suspect the crackle is either a GW2 specific or DirectX issue. Havent noticed it in any other game. The crashing upon exiting is something that has been there for Win7Pro as well. Was introduced many patches ago.

Otherwise its the “normal” DCs/lag/etc that Anet introduces as bonus features in each patch, especially for WvW.

Do note that if you are using Win10, do not use the default Nvidia driver that come preinstalled. Its pretty much broken and incomplete. You have to reinstall from Nvidia directly.

If you set it to windowed fullscreen, the issue goes completely. It’s a fullscreen related issue
